Change agent
The necessary qualities that a good change agent need are: a. clear vision, b. patience
as well as persistence, c. asking tough questions, d. knowledge and leadership through
example and e. building strong relationship based on trust (Priestley, Biesta and Robinson,
2013). Among these qualities I have a combination of the first four. Whenever I take on
project, I make a clear understanding of the aims and objective of the project which is true for
organizational change. Once the vision of the desired outcome is fixed I work hard to reach it
where patience and persistence is necessary. While working a project I collect all the
necessary data and gather as much knowledge as possible. I understand that without proper
knowledge on the subject, the work will appear vague and rudimentary. Learning and
thinking critically on the subject enhances my knowledge and makes any job that I take much
more insightful and critical. While learning, it is necessary that we ask tough questions so
that the matter becomes clear. During a change in an organization, aspects that will be
changing, what possible effects will the employees face and many such questions arise in
everybody’s mind (Heuvel et al. 2013). I prefer to ask them directly as that is the best course
of action. A change agent is able to look at the change both personally and objectively
depending on their position. The people involved need guidance and through my experience I
have seen that I am able both to lead people in a project and work with teams to reach the
desired outcome. Thus, I believe that I will be able to become a successful change agent.
