INTRODUCTION
The present assignment will be developed for conducting a review on upcoming changes
within Jamunkar Building Co., a construction company in Chandrapur, India. It was established
in 2007, when Ravi Jamunkar, a civil engineer founded for employment generation. This
organisation stood on its excellency on technical aspects and design operations. It is one of the
few constructions companies in Chandrapur region, which aimed to be on top .
The report will discuss each and every stage of initiation implemented in Jamunkar Co.
along with methods to minimise risks involved while implementation process. It will include
various approaches of change map such as Gap analysis, route analysis along with change
intervention and evaluation of initiatives to be implemented for overall development and
effective growth of this company.
Various changes are always in need of money, resources and the desire of each and every
employee to bring effective modifications to the company can only be achieved when the entire
team is in collaboration for their betterment. In order to achieve new heights, the construction
company needs to bring various changes that can assist in expansion and progression of this
organisation.
This project is written in three major parts as mentioned below -
1. Change map: It includes -
Gap Analysis – This method will describe differences between existing position and the
market position that the company wants to achieve in the future.
Route Analysis – In this part, journey of changes will be discussed under the sections of
getting in, getting on and getting out under Kotter's 8 steps of change (Tian, Cui and
Reinartz, 2014). Forcefield Analysis - This tool will discuss restraining and driving forces against and for
the changes.
2. Change intervention - It will determine the actions that will be taken to represent
elements and areas of these changes

BACKGROUND
In 2006, recession hit India, and at that point, my father Ravi Jamunkar felt the sense of

department and managers will be included to understand benefits of initiations. It is also
important to create an effective stakeholder engagement plan in order to identify to whom
we need to interact with and how to get major influencers supporting implementation of
changes.
3. Creating vision to change – I will involve with project managers, head of departments
and employees to make them understand the importance of changes planned so that they
can get linked to the strategies. A discussion with team members within the company is
essential to reflect significance of initiative to organisation and customers.

4. Communicating the change vision – The company is not so effective in
communication, however there is an important theory which states while implementing a
change, it is very essential to communicate regularly with employees (Zhao, Huang and
Zhu, 2015). I will focus on utilising various communication tools such as phones, emails
and messages to interact with employees. These tools will help in formulating strategies
related to transfer in commercial and real estate market, putting audit system and new
night construction schedule. Manager will be trained into order to conduct team briefing
so that all the employees in Jamunkar Co. can prepare themselves for adapting changes as

can affect effectiveness or efficiency of business functions and implementation of
changes. Before implementing initiatives, it is essential to arrange resources, recruit new
and skilled employees. A proper project or change management plan must be developed
to meet desired outcomes. According to Kotter's theory, there are four major barriers to
empowerment -

INTERVENTION
After completion of route analysis and Kotter's eight steps, it has been identified to make
changes in an organizational structure, transfer into new market, putting audit system and
rescheduling night construction timing, it is very essential to ensure that each and every step or
activity of the project is completed according to time set using appropriate resources. There are
some cases in which steps were missed but to achieve the goals, I tried that all the steps in
Kotter's approach from the beginning to end of project (Hansen and López, 2018).

EVALUATION
The overall projects went well; project managers and other employees showed a great
effort in implementing changes as planned. Jamunkar Construction company started their
business in commercial market which was acceptable by their customers. Many contracts for
commercial buildings are already obtained, entering into real estate business was also successful,
newly hired accountants were very effective in putting a significant audit system within the
company.
What worked well?
The employees and project management team were highly motivated as they see their
growth with the development in Jamnukar Co. which encouraged them to adopt planned

EVALUATION

effort in implementing changes as planned. Jamunkar Construction company started their
business in commercial market which was acceptable by their customers. Many contracts for

Newly hired project managers were not much experienced as they were getting confused
many times while planning new schedule for night construction. It developed a lot of difficulties
in setting up timing and schedules for shifts of employees working within construction sites at
night.
Recommendations for future
It can be helpful for the company if they hire experienced managers who had already
worked in construction company. There must be fluctuating schedules or shifts for employees
and laborers. Proper training must be provided to each and every worker within an organization
so that changes can be planned and implemented successfully.
CONCLUSION
The above report concluded that change management and implementation is a critical
approach for most organizations. There are various theories and models which can be useful for a
company while implementing changes in their business structure or functions. This report
identified that changes such as transfer into commercial, reals estate, creating new audit system
etc. are successfully implemented within Jamunkar building construction Co. The only initiative
not completed was rescheduling night construction shifts due to confusion and employees’
resistance.
