CHANGE MANAGEMENT
It is a process of transforming the old procedures or strategies into new procedures or
strategies or bringing new technology in the organization in order to improve the efficiency of
performance and profitability of the organization (Hayes, 2018).
For example – a retailing company MECCA MALL incorporate in Jordan notices that its
competitors are shifting towards online business which give them profits and help in create brand
image. Thus, company decide to operate online business so that company can earn profits and
create a brand image in the global market.
For brining the change, Manager of the company has to follow change management
process through Kotter's 8 steps change model which are as follows -
Firstly, manager identify the needs of change in organization in the context of beneficial
for the organization. After, manager will communicate with employees the need of change and
create urgency and support to accept the change. After, communicating and discussing the plans,
manager will hire some IT specialized employees and managers to build the change team. Now,
manager will create vision for the company and make understand that vision to the team and
employees. Manager will communicate to those employees who don't want to accept the change
and make them understand the importance of change in the context of Mall. After that manager,
team and employees will decide the long term goals and break it into short term goals and try to
achieve them by implementing various strategies. Manager and team will continue the evaluation
of change process and try to improve that. After that Manager will establish the new status quo
and like this whole process will continue (Harmon, 2019).
CHALLENGES FACED BY MANAGERS IN ORDER TO BRINGING
ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES
Manager of the company may face conflicts between employees and managers due to
uncertainty and fear. Also, any wrong decision in planning process may fail the whole change
management process in the organization, this would lead to wastage of money, time and efforts.
Lack of communication about change and its impact also lead to failure of change and this can
lead manager to face challenges in the organization. Lack of timely updates about changes to the
key employees also become a challenge. Lack of confidence and low employee morale are

another challenges, company's manager has to face. Lack of proper training to the employees
about new technologies also become a challenge for the manager (Jayatilleke and Lai, 2018).
ADDRESS THE CHALLENGES
Manager of the company can involve their employees in every plans, decisions and stages
of the change management so that they can easily understand the importance of changes in the
context of organization and adopt the changes easily without any fear or uncertainty and support
the managers. Managers can also take feedback from the key employees and employees of the
firm about the change implementation progression so that they can evaluate the process timely in
order to prevent the change from failures. By providing proper training and proper evaluation of
decisions and strategies before implementing those decisions and strategies can save time and
money in order to accept the changes (Lewis, 2019).
