INTRODUCTION
Health and social care is that term which is related to the services that are available from
health and social care providers. In present scenario, it can be analyzed that there are various
people who are facing different issues or problems regarding health care because such
organization does not provide them proper treatment due to lack of funds and resources. This
assignment is based on King's Fund and Nuffield Trust which provide actual data and
information about health care issues in England for publishing this study that named as “Home
Trust”. NHS is the public health care organization which deliver various services or facilities to
the country people (Antheunis, Tates and Nieboer, 2013). The main purpose of this report is to
describe the factors which drive changes in health and social care services and explain current
alteration with principles of change management.
TASK 1
1.1 Explain the key factors that drive changes in health and social care services
Change management is defined as the set of whole system and procedures which form
and transform real situation of an organization for achieving desired goals and objectives. In the
current scenario, each industry require to change their system according to the environment so
they can easily reach with desired targets and goals which help in surviving in the market place.
This report is essential for giving huge emphasis on various factors which directly impact on
changing system within an enterprise. Along with this, health and social care association need to
undertaken different alteration and changes which assist in giving effective quality of healthcare
services to social care service users. In the current situation of England, people does not get
required treatment and facilities because organization provide expensive services and higher
costs. Local authority have to determine such factors and gives accurate funds or financial help
to the organization so that they can easily improve performance in better way (Bernabeo and
Holmboe, 2013). There are different factors that can help in identifying driver changes of various
companies like PESTLE analysis, Force Field analysis. Such are described as follows:
PEST analysis
Political factor – It define different rules and regulations, legislation, code of conducts,
legal authorities and acts that can be developed by country government. Apart from this, these
effects on the organization has different ways that includes social care for old age people who

were poor in England due to lack of healthcare services. In current time period, local government
are dealing with lack of funding and demographic pressures so they need to dealing with
implementation of Care Act, 2014 that has carry out important changes to the system. It was
passed on 15 May 2014 which describing intense care for older people and other patients. In this,
London council gives accurate funds to the healthcare center for improving their organization
performance and provide proper treatments to their patients.
Economical factor – This is another factor which has been creating major impact on
health and social care and it includes currency rates, economic growth, inflation rates, growth
and exchange rate, etc. Due to this, these variation directly effect which assessed by
administration of NHS regarding funding that does not fulfilling effectively (Brett and et.al.,

includes lifestyles, aging populations, minority ethnics society needs. For example, NHS is
regulating and operating business operations for delivering services to the old age people and
there are various aging patients so that they will carry out different changes in current operations.
They have to install new machine and techniques for support old age people.
Technological factors – This will define the new techniques and methods which help in
increasing company growth and success in high level. There are various changes and
improvement in working style in effective manner. NHS require to determine new technology
which maintain the functions and operations such as install electronic record keeping systems for
maintaining company data and information in proper way. Along with this, they are providing
better training and development sessions for their employees to learn high technological skills.

and using new methods for better treatments. It is a positive factor of the healthcare center where
they will make better employees workforce which gain satisfied funds and fulfill desires.

maintenance of tools and methods, inappropriate management, lack of resources, poor staffing
services and home care treatments, etc. and it is essential for undertaken such forces at the time
of adopting such changes.

changes in the health and social care services. It is one of the major impact on employees,
service users and organization through this they can face various challenges as per the occurring
situations. Along with this, healthcare services need appropriate funds and revenue for providing
accurate treatments to the old age patients. Thus, local authority are mainly deal with
demographic load and finances are required for proper social care systems. In addition to this,
they are mainly concentrate on executing Care Act 2014 according to the necessity due to this

giving accurate funds for using new techniques and methods such as robotic surgery, ultrasound
machines, therapies and other equipment (Fisher and et. al., 2012). Thus, management need to

determined for improving quality based services which increasing their abilities, skills and
knowledge for enhancing profitability effectively.
