Medication administrative errors are natural in a
healthcare facility which usually occurs due to
several factors such as heavy workload on nurses,
time of the duty shift, the experience of the nurses,
and system deficiencies (Palese et al. 2019).
The nurse managers and leaders can create
strategies to reduce medication administration
errors by introducing various visible reminders such
as do-not-disturb tabards and signs to remind
others of no disruptions during administrative
treatment rounds (Palese et al. 2019).

During the implementation of a sudden kind of change, it
would not be easy to do that change quickly. According to
Kotter, there are specific problems which are simple and can
be solved promptly; however, there are particular problems
which involve core processes and require thorough analysis.
According to Kotter, most of the change efforts fail because
managers did not analyze the issues thoroughly and did not
plan an effective strategy. Kotter’s change model was
implemented into the red apron initiative. Kotter’ss model
provides the reasons why organizational change processes
fail.

of change in an organization, by ensuring that if eight
reasons for failure are minimized, then successful transition
will follow.

CONCLUSION
It was noticed that after the introduction of
the drug round tabards or the red aprons,
there was a significant reduction in the
number of disruptions and all the blunders
which was occurring through the nursing
staffs. Wearing different coloured tabards or
aprons with a specific message written,
which would directly report to the nursing
staff instead of the patients, may have a less
adverse effect on patients.

RECOMMENDATION
Educating people, making them understand
when not to disturb the nurse and when it is
appropriate to interrupt the nurse for asking
general questions or for asking for any
demand, is a necessity. Nurses should also
focus on concerns rising from machinery,

atmosphere and not only on the disruptions
arising from patients and their caregivers

Transformational leadership focuses on the duty
of nurse practitioners and mentors in the
improvement of medication safety education to
enhance the students' abilities, and the patient's
knowledge for the formation of caring values,
and development of students' ingenuity, and

graduates with the capabilities essential to be
thorough about medications welfare and the
