M1: Assess the different drivers for change in each of the given examples and the types of
organisational change they have affected.
According to Laudon and Laudon (2016), the different drivers of change have helped in
supporting the organisation to execute the various business operations and aided them to provide
substantial customer services to its customers.
Technological capacity
The technological capacity has helped “Sykes Holiday Cottages” to implement and improve the
online services, which has been made high quality. It helps in catering to the different demands
and requirements of the numerous customers in the market. The customers who are interested in
book cottages for a holiday trip will book the cabins online. Booking through online services will
help the customers to avail the services smoothly without wasting any time. The “Crawford
Healthcare” also involves the use of technologies to bring improvements in bringing about
improvements within the healthcare services and development of products. The company
associated with the production of products of dermatology and the different wound care facilities
makes use of advanced technology and determines its growth by assessing the market demand
for its products.
Innovation
The company will also be able to enhance its brand image and record growth within the travel
and tourism sector. The two aspects, which determine and assess the different drivers of change,
are the demands and capabilities related to the companies.
. The company carries out market research, which helps the company to reach greater heights
and maximise their profits. The company thus observes the strategies of its market competitors,
which allows them to frame their policies and implement their services following them. The
capacity of the company is an important aspect which helps the leaders to achieve the changes
within the organisations.

M2: Apply appropriate theories and models to evaluate organisational response to change
critically.
Kurt Lewin’s Model:
The Kurt Lewin change model involves three steps for understanding the change process. The
three steps include:
Unfreezing:
This step describes that before the change takes place people must be aware of it. The change
must go through an initial stage of unfreezing before it can be implemented. The main target of
this stage is to create awareness on how the change process will create acceptability and hinder
the organisation in some way. The idea is that the more people are aware of the change the more
they will feel vital and motivated to accept the change.
Changing
After the unfreezing stage comes the changing stage. The changing step is referred to as the
transition or moving. In this stage the people learn new behaviours and new ways of thinking. If
they are prepared for this step then they can complete the change process easily. Therefore,
change is a process that should be planned and executed properly. For this reason there is a need
of effective communication process. In this whole process the employees are reminded the
reason for change and the way it can benefit them and the organisation.
Refreezing:
Lewin named the last phase of his change model freezing, but many people call it refreezing to
mean that the process is constituted the different stages which help in reflecting the recent
condition after the change. The changes done to directorial processes, targets, constitutions,
contributions or people are acknowledged and they are again frozen back to their previous state
or status quo. Lewin discovered the refreezing step to be principally significant to guarantee that
people do not go back or return to their old ways of planning or accomplishing former ways of
the carrying out of the change. Pains should be taken and labours have to be made to warranty
the change is not vanished; rather, it needs to be fixed into the organization’s method of leading
