INTRODUCTION
Change is define as a procedure which is adopted by a company in order to improve,
transform or restructure the major portion of their operations disrupting or break down related to
manpower, system and procedure (Ahmetaj and et.al., 2017). There are various benefits gain by
a company through adopting change such as growth, be flexible, increase life value, strength
process and so on. Organization taken for this project is Dell which is a subsidiary company
operating in computer hardware and software industry. It is founded by Michael Dell in 1984 and
they are offering their products at worldwide level. Topics which are included in report are
situation which lead to change at respective workplace and theories which they can be implement
for adopting change. Along with this, it will also include approach for change process and
strategic plan for implementing it. This will include information related to benefit of change
process for sustaining while implementing change.
CASE STUDY
This report is based on the case study of Dell and their change process which they are
planning to adopting in order to improve their supply chain. The respective company is operating
in repairing, selling, developing and supporting programmes related to computer hardware and
software. Dell is offering their products and services related to company at worldwide level as
well as it is consider as world's largest manufacturing company of computer related hardware
and software. Now they are planning to adopt change in their supply chain process because they
are facing main issue due to inappropriate disposal of electronic waste. For this they are planning
to adopt their concept i.e. “take, make and dispose”. According to which they will develop
innovative aspect such as Take back option, Close loop economy and so on. In this they will
generally reuse plastic in developing or manufacturing new product (Ansari, 2019). So by this
report they able to identify different models for adopting change as well as it will also help them
in developing strategic plan for implementing respective change at workplace.

Dell is one of world's largest computer manufacturing company which is launched in year
1984. Its headquarter is located at Texas, United State and they offer variety of technology based
products such as server, personal computers, smartphones, televisions and many others. In this

manufacturing process respective firm produce huge plastic, fossil fuel, pollution which impact
on the surrounding so they are planning to adopt change in their supply chain in order to reduce
wastage. For which they are planning to use recycled plastics or material which leads to reduce
waste (Beech and MacIntosh, 2017). Along with this, respective company is adopting circular
supply chain as well as take back program aid in minimising waste as well as it will also lead to
increase in profitability ratio and goodwill. Dell is also need to adopt change in various factors or
procedure, from which some major are mentioned below:-
Dell management must adopt change in their logistics because they are operating at
worldwide level so if they collect e- waste and plastics from their users then it will be
expensive for them due to economic as well as environmental cost.
Respective firm has introduce concept of Closed loop recycling process but while
implementing this they are facing issues related to how they can convert plastic waste
into new product (Boutros and Purdie, 2014). So company need to develop strategies in
order to improve and conduct this process in effective manner.
These are the major situation which Dell need to consider for adopting change at their
workplace. This is so because it will help them in minimising loopholes, improve process and
quality and minimise wastage.

The Kurt Lewin's change model will include three phase i.e. unfreezing, changing and
refreezing. It is one of the simple and mostly use change model because it help in adopting
change according to requirement. In respect of Dell at first stage, their manager will conduct
meeting and convince employees about the change so that they get ready to come out from
comfort zone (Clardy, 2013). In they management will tell about benefits of using reusable
products or material. Then next stage will be change in this Dell staff acclimate to the change
and try to fix all the problems related to pollution and usage of plastic in new and innovative
way. Then last stage will be freeze in this employees of respective company mould themselves
according the new process which they adopt for minimising wastage.
ADKAR Model
ADKAR Model is a bottom up model which help Dell in focusing on an individual
behind the change. This model is developed by Jeffery Hiatt who is a founder of Prosci. Here A
is Awareness at which management of respective company will aware their staff about the
change i.e. related to adopting new process in supply chain which help in minimising wastage.
Then D define as Desire that define as participate as well as support for adopting or
implementing change. In this respective company manager will discuss with staffs in order to
know their viewpoint. After that A that mean Ability and according to this Dell management will
identify skill and ability which they required for implementing respective change in effective

that change adaptation will done properly. The last phase is R which mean Reinforcement that
mean to sustain the change and for this respective company management conduct proper
evaluation on time to time basis which help them in ensuring effectiveness of change at
workplace by decreasing wastage.
By adopting both model of change Dell able to adopt change related to minimising e
waste in effective manner as well as through it they able to enhance their work quality, goodwill
and profitability ratio.

develop effective strategic plan in order to manage change within organisation. This company is
changing its life cycle process so it is essential that all activities are conducting in correct manner
so that set aim and targets could be achieved company. Strategic plan consist of different steps as
well as sequences that is necessary to establishing successful changes within organisation.
Change is very crucial part of organisation for its success and conducting business activities in
more effective and efficient manner. Change process can be refer to as sequence of steps as well
as activities that are necessary for conducting change within organisation. It is essential for Dell
company to change its business operations as well as its activities in order to enhance
productivity as well as profitability (Eayrs, Cadrin and Glass,2014). Dell company is taking
multi capital approach in order to quantify its natural capital benefits of the closed looped model.
It is also exploring the possibility of measuring all the social impacts that is associated with this
approach of change. Dell company has taken whole eco system in its product life cycle as well
as transforming the way it producing its products and services.
Closed loop system is uses feedback in which selected portion of outputs is analysed in
order to reduce the error as well as improve stability. This model is used to measure the quality
of work as well as conducting business activities in effective and efficient manner. Close looped
system is also known as feedback control system. This type of model is using feedbacks signals
to control as well as measure all activities in effective and efficient manner. This is a controlling
tool which monitors as well as analyse the activities done by respective company. It includes

in the change process of respective company. Assess: In this step company will assess all the information that is needed to conduct
