CHANGE MANAGEMENT 2
Introduction
Change is inevitable in any society because of the desire for growth and development. Many
individuals in the society fear change due to the impact associated with it. For instance in the
work place, most of the employees have a negative attitude towards change due to the
complexity of tasks associated with the implementation of the desired change within the
organization. Some fear change due to the need for training so as to cope with the current
situation within the organization. This report is going to outline how a manager in early child
hood setting can introduce and manage change in the organization. The report shall focus on the
introduction of change in an early childhood environmental setting for the efficiency of the
achievement of strategic goals and objectives. The report shall outline various steps to be taken
in the process of introduction of change within the setting. The efficient application of the
systematic steps shall enhance the smooth flow of operations after the implementation of the
desired change.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT 3
Introduction of change
This is a very critical aspect in any given organizational setting. A manager should formulate
efficient strategies to ensure that the desired change faces minimum resistance from the stake
holders (Troy& Conference Board, 2014).The manager should conduct a thorough analysis of
the organization to identify the existing gaps which should be addressed by the change he is
intending to introduce within the organization. The manager should also provide the stake
holders with documented summary of the necessary changes so that they become acquainted
with the changes and the timelines for implementation. This would be very important because it
shall facilitate important feedback which might be beneficial to you as a manager because
depending on the feedback given, you shall know whether to proceed with the plans for change
or postpone it.

Steps to introduce change
According to Thompson & Martin (2015) the manager should follow the following steps to bring
about the desired change in the organization
Create a sense of urgency for the need for change
A manager should outline to the relevant stake holders how the change shall be important and
how soon it should be adopted in the organization.
Create a vision for change
This is important so as to provide a sense of direction to the organization after the change has
been implemented within the organization. An effective vision for change would give the clear
picture of what the change intends to accomplish within the organization
Communicate the vision for change
An efficient communication regarding the vision for change to the stake holders would influence
their support on the desired change within the organization after a clear vision for change is
articulated to them.
Dealing with the obstacles
When a change is introduced in a given environment, it is usually susceptible to resistance
among various types of individuals. The manager should identify key individuals who might be
resistant to change and deal with them appropriately.
