The online learning classes require the people to have certain characteristics in order to
achieve success.
The personal characteristics include both the strengths and the weaknesses. I as a person
am an effective communicator and have a good command over the global language, English. I
make sure that my ideas and thoughts get well communicated to the teachers of the online
courses gaining insight into every aspect of it. In accordance with this, I have my strengths in the
technical and technological skills which is very essential for an online learner. I can handle the
assignments and the technicalities of the computer and the internet connection. I also have the
strength of active learning and can grasp the problems very easily. I also try to speak up about
my problems if they arise.
However, apart from the strengths, I also have y weaknesses. As a person, I have poor
time-management skill. I often do not have the proper knowledge of effective time management
and realize that it is something that is very important. Managing the time effectively throughout
the online learning course will help me to submit the assignments on time and for this reason, I
aim to overcome this weakness by making a proper schedule (Kennedy, 2014). I aim to chalk out
an effective plan according to which I would schedule my tasks and assignments. Moreover, in
accordance with this, I am weak at being disciplined and I lack self motivation. I remain
distracted all the time which affects my assignments and the learning process. I fall short at
managing time effectively which is another reason for the distractions. Since I cannot submit the
assignments on time, I remain demotivated and lack the confidence to carry on forward. Thus I
desire to overcome this weakness by gaining courage and confidence together. Keeping short

targets and achieving the same within the time would help me gain motivation and encourage me
to learn the course with utmost concentration.
The learning strategies that are important for successful online classes include the
effective time management. There should be a proper study plan, which should involve both the
learning as well as practicing for the assessments. One should be practicing how to manage the
time effectively and how they can submit the assignments within the specific deadline. Another
strategy that one should have in order to succeed in the online learning courses involves
eliminating the distractions (Kizilcec, Perez-Sanagustin & Maldonado, 2017). For example, one
can limit their social media usages, and focus more on the learning. There should also be fewer
distractions with the cell phone calls. However, apart from both these strategies, the most
important of them is to set a particular goal and work towards the same. There should be a major
goal for the individual students in order to be successful. Attending online learning courses
demand to be constantly active on the tasks and one should be more attentive during such
courses (Holzweiss et.al., 2014).
