1. Introduction
1.1 Background of the company
The paper focuses on “Clean N Wax Auto Services” organization, which helps in
providing services like washing, waxing as well as polishing the Vehicle. The company is
operating in 400 Orchard Road, Singapore since 2005 (Services 2019). It is found that as part of
the Company’s effort to properly demonstrate corporate social responsibility, the top
management of the organization has recently decided to hold a charity car wash event for raising
funds so that proper amount of funds can be raised in the support of the Charity.
1.2 Overview of the project
1.2.1 Key points of the projects
The project mainly focuses on organizing a charity car wash event by “Clean N Wax
Auto Services” which helps in providing car wash facility in order to raise funds so that the
charity organization of Singapore can be supported. As the project manager is mainly appointed
by the top management of the organization, it is necessary to organize as well as plan the fund-
raising project properly. It is found that the charity car wash is one of the best ways to raise
money and for which proper marketing technique is required to be used. It is identified that the
event will be organized within 20 days of time by utilizing a budget of around $8,000.
1.2.2 Corporate social responsibility
It is found that as pressure is added by different consumers which generally seek to make
much more responsible choices, the companies generally incorporate different sustainable
strategies for adopting a much more socially responsible practice (Grayson and Hodges 2017). It
is found that the top trends that are associated with CSR includes increase in transparency,

According to Pheng (2018), a project scope is defined as the part of project planning that
generally helps in determining as well as documenting a number of project deliverables as well
as project goals. It is defined as a part of planning which mainly involves documentation as well
as identification of project deliverables, features as well as functions.

The main objective of the project is to organize a charity car wash event by “Clean N Wax
Auto Services” in order to support the charity organization.

2.5 Limits and exclusions
The various limits and exclusion which can create issue while organizing the car wash
event are listed below:
Poor support materials: It is found that the presence of poor support materials is
considered as one of the major problems during fundraising event. Therefore, it is quite
important to create additional materials for the event.
Limited number of customers: If the customers who came in the event with their car
are very much limited in number then the amount of profit that is raised for the charity

organization of Singapore is quite less and thus the profit which will be generated from the event
can get affected.
Improper marketing: It is quite necessary to advertise the event with the help of posters
as well as social media so that a greater number of people can be able to know about it.
However, use of insufficient marketing medium causes lack of proper information distribution
due to which the funds which will be collected from the event can get affected.
Weak internal communication: This generally hampers the efforts of fundraising as due
to improper communication, it is not possible for the event manager to give clear information to
the volunteers as well as the workers for their performance.

3. Project priorities
Project prioritization is defined as one of the important procedures that is used for

as successful manner (Koksal et al. 2019). It is found that proper project prioritization generally
helps in increasing the rate of project success and helps in earning very much high rate of return
on investment. Moreover, transparent as well as value-based prioritization of project helps the
project team in understanding the importance of the project.
3.1 Trade offs
According to Mohammadipour and Sadjadi (2016), trade-off is defined as one of the
procedures where the project team evaluates a number of options for the project and further
assists in deciding the appropriate approach that is mainly helpful in meeting the goals of the
project. The priorities in this project are mainly elaborated below:
First Priority (Time): As “Clean N Wax Auto Services” wants to organize a Car Wash
fundraising event within the time period of 20 days, therefore time is considered as one of the
most significant objective or priority before the event manager. It is found that if time for the
project changes then the budget which is needed for the entire project generally increases which
further obstruct the event arrangement and thus time is considered as an important element.
Second priority (Cost): It is found that the second objective of Clean N Wax Auto
Services is to organize the event by utilizing budget of around $8,000. It is very much important
to properly utilize project budget for properly planning as well as for making arrangement for
event such that the entire event can be organized sucessfully.

Third priority (Scope): Proper management of scope is considered as the third priority
before the management team of the organization. If the team can be capable of managing the

5. Cost estimation
According to Shekhar and Kumar (2016), cost estimation is defined as one of the
procedures of cost as well as resource forecasting that is mainly needed to finish a project within
the defined scope. Proper cost estimation is considered important for keeping the entire event
under budget and therefore it generally includes those factors which are helpful in meeting the
project financial commitment for making the entire project quite successful.
Top down estimation is defined as one of the cost estimation technique where the entire
project is estimated first and then the different tasks of the project are apportioned. This
technique is mainly utilized by the upper management of the organization for properly estimating

the total project cost by utilizing details from projects that are completed earlier. Furthermore,
these particular types of estimation can also be dependent on the experiences of those individuals
who are very much experienced. It is considered to be quite essential as the cost estimation is

It is stated by Farag et al. (2016), bottom up estimation within project is mainly defined
as a technique which involves proper estimation of the work with very much lowest possible
detail. It is found that by building proper detail of cost and time estimate for a particular work
package, the probability of meeting the estimate amount substantially improves. It is considered
as the most accurate approach that is used for estimating the cost as well as duration of the
project task. This particular estimation technique generally gives the entire team the opportunity
to take proper part in developing the proper estimation which is mainly utilized for measuring
the work. Furthermore, these types of estimation are helpful in developing high team
commitment than any other types of estimates.
It is analyzed that bottom up estimation is mainly utilized in this project as the best
selected method for cost estimation (Kerzner 2017). This is because bottom up budgets are very
much accurate as each of the department generally utilizes its specialized knowledge for creating
the individual line. This is also beneficial as the project does not allow longer period of time for
proper project planning.
