Strategic leadership refers to providing a vision and mission to company that will help in
achieving objectives in the future. It is important for an organization to make goals and
objectives so that it will help in growth.
Present study will be based upon Charles and Keith company (Dong and et. al., 2017). It
is a Singaporean fashion footwear and accessories company that was founded by Charles &
Keith Wong in 1996.
Report will mainly include knowledge and skills in leadership and strategic management
that will require for achieving organizational vision and strategy. Different factors that will have
contributed towards skills and knowledge and theories of leadership and management. It also
includes leadership skills and knowledge that helps in achieving organizational strategy.
Furthermore, it will include factors that will have an impact on organisational vision and
different approaches for developing vision.
TASK 1
Knowledge and skills in leadership and strategic management
Skills that is required for becoming strategic management are as follows:-
Delegating:- A strategic leader will be delegating as they are focused on vision and mission that
will help in achieving objectives of Charles & Keith. It is the most important skill that will be
possess by different strategic leaders for achieving growth in the company.
Communication:- This is another skill that have to posses by leader in the company. It is
important for leader to easily communicate with its subordinates that will facilitate in doing work
effectively for the future.
Problem Solver:- leader must be able to solve problem of its subordinates as it is important for
solving problem of employees in Charles & Keith (Eva and et. al., 2018). This will help in
strategic thinking that will be providing different perspective for the future.
Clarity and decisive: The leaders must be clear about the goals or objectives that they are
portraying, and they must be quick in taking correct decisions (Rothaermel, 2016).
There are many other skills that a leader must have such as motivating employees, correct
planning, dealing with emotional intelligence, conflict management, enhancing communication
at different levels and planning adequately and justifiably.
