This report presents an observation and analysis of a two-year-old child named Charlotte and her relationships with her mother, who is also a lead educator at the childcare center, and her educator, Rachel. The observation aims to understand the dynamics between Charlotte and her mother, focusing on expressions of affection and interaction during playtime, and between Charlotte and Rachel, focusing on trust and comfort levels. The report uses Erikson's theory of psychosocial development and Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory to interpret the observations, highlighting the importance of parent-child interaction and the educator's role in fostering social and emotional development. The report identifies that Charlotte has a strong bond with her mother and trusts her educator, Rachel. The report concludes with developing plans for implementing effective relationships between Charlotte and her mother which includes having conversation with Charlotte at bedtime and appreciating Charlotte over her achievements. In addition, developing plans for building effective relationships between Charlotte and Rachel (educator) have been suggested.
