Charter Accident Response Plan
An immediate response to an emergency is a critical act, and that helps to save lives of
the crew. When a charter company fails to respond quickly, it is likely that they will incur huge
loses. There is a likelihood that failure to manage will create confusion, worries, and adverse
effects. The plan was created in line with specific objectives that were to be achieved (Iijima,
2012). The goals are to make the company be in its standards, through creation of a document
that is easy to use.
The manual outline of the plan
The plan consists of three areas that are flight crew members, accident response team
leader, and media statement. The flight crew member is the MANIFEST plan.
M-Mayday is where the flight crew member is required to declare a state of emergency to the
crew.
A-abandon aircraft. There is a need to evacuate the plane as soon as the emergency is declared
and in adherence to the procedures in the aviation manual.
Notification to authorities. Informing the nearby police about the accident, about any injuries
and ensure quick response for treatment of those injured.
I-isolate. The police should assist the victims and try to isolate them from the scene. There
should be no interference to ensure that the investigators do their investigation with the highest
integrity.

F-First Aid. The injured people must receive first aid instantly. We will seek medication from a
qualified practitioner for the crew members despite being injured or being okay (Gotoh,
Takezawa, & Maeno, 2012).
E-Eyewitness. Get the addresses and the names of the people who are around during the
incident. The people should be used as a crucial eyewitness in case of any litigation matters.
S-Silence. Maintain less communication unless when responding to medical attention. However,
as the pilot, you are required to cooperate in producing documents, pilot’s license, and medical
certificates.
T-Team leader. Ensure that you inform the aircraft accident response team leader and advise
them on the measures to be undertaken in such a situation.
Accident Response Team Leader
The response of the accident by team leader needs to be in line with the overall goal of
the company. We have established a motion in which we will be able to cater to the complete
responses easily. The CARE initiative will guide us.
C-Confirm. Ensure that the calls received are authentic. The response team should obtain all the
relevant information that is related to the accident (Smith, 2017).
A-Alert. There should be an evaluation of whether the accident requires the complete response
plan of the company. However, there will be room for changes to meet the needs of the situations
since occurrences will differ from the other (Gotoh, Takezawa, & Maeno, 2012).
R-Records. There should be access to the original records, and the response team will be
allowed to make copies for own purpose while storing the originals in a secure place.

E-Employees. The employees should be informed of any important information in the
departmental level. The employees should receive a one to two days compulsory off after the
accident (Lyon, Macauley, Richardson, De Coverly, & Russell, 2015).
Finally, the response team should be armed with adequate information for them to
respond to the media team. The response team should understand the limits of information they
are required to issue to the media.
