1936 – The Ipperwash Provincial Park was created by the Province of Ontario.
1942 - The land was taken by the Government due to the purpose of the World War II.
1993 – The campo was used by a summer camp by the Government of Canada. This is the
time when the tensions start between the people and the Government of Ontario itself.
September 4, 1995 – Protest started by a group of natives over the land claims to get the
attention of the Government itself.
September 5, 1995 – A meeting was held by Premier Harris and other officials of the
Government to discuss the matters of the Ipperwash Crisis.
September 6, 1995 - One of the protesters named Dudley George was shot by the police of
the Ontario Provincial Police for protesting in the park itself. He was taken to a hospital
where he was declared dead at around 12:20 A.M. in the morning of September 7th.
September 2002 – The acting officer Sergeant Ken Deane was convicted of criminal
negligence which had resulted in the death of Dudley Georgie. He served criminal terms and
finally resigned in the year 2002.
