Scenario 1
Question A) What social and cultural diversity characteristics does this client have?
Answer: The Client was quite uncomfortable to get involve within the social celebration which
depict that the social characteristics to which client belong is Introvert behaviour, where he is not
much comfortable or use to in getting involve with other people in social gathering. Other than
this when it is about the cultural characteristics then the client belongs to such culture where the
social gathering and celebration is not given much importance by the people.
Question B) What assumptions, stereotypes and bias do you have about the client due to
their diversity characteristics?
Answer: From the different characteristic and nature of client I assumed that he is having a
introvert behaviour and attitude which is not good for the people up to this level that they do not
even get indulge with some number of people. But this kind of behaviour must be changes or
improve by the people who are introvert as extroversion characteristics is very crucial for an
individual in corporate world as well as for personal life too.
Question C) How do you feel towards the client after reading the scenario? How
comfortable are you with this situation?
Answer: After going through scenario, I feel poor toward the client as he belong to a culture of
society where the celebration and social gathering is not much involved in the people’s life
which is not good as they don’t get much chance of enjoyment which is good for mental health
too. By living in such social life the client is get develop with the characteristic which make him
so that the client not even able to tackle with the small group celebration and get uncomfortable.
Question D) What similarities and differences do you have with the client?
Answer: Through this scenario I found a similarity between me and client is that when he felt
uncomfortable, he shift and sit a far away from the place where the birthday celebration is going
on. I also act I like if I remain uncomfortable with some social gathering as if when I don’t likely
to get involve in the celebration, I will not be going to spoil it by remaining at that place. Other
than this the difference is that when one of my colleagues offer him to join he refused and sit
aside, but if would be at his place then I for the sake of social behaviour I get with them and join
the celebration for a little for avoiding the awkward situation.
Question E) What is your plan to overcome any bias towards the client?

Answer: For avoiding any kind of bias toward client from the colleagues of mien I make sure
that I make them inform about the cultural and social difference that client have with our team.
Other than this for overcoming such kind of situation and biasness toward client I will get move
to that client and interact with them by getting side if he is not comfortable with that social
gathering and ask him to wait a little and I re-join him.
Scenario 2
Question A) What social and cultural diversity characteristics does this new client have
that may affect communication?
Answer The client named as Riku belongs to different nationality or culture as he is not able to
speak in English which means it is not his native language which is a main barrier within the
communication. It is so because the client is having hearing impairment and also don’t know
English and take himself with his niece who translate what he want to speak. This is the factor
which is affecting the communication.
Question B) List some effective verbal and non-verbal strategies you plan to use to aid
communication. What will you do to try to avoid misunderstandings with the client?
Answer: In order to ensure that there remain effective communication I will be using para
language, expressions and haptics as a nonverbal form of communication along with pictures and
videos as a verbal form. This is to ensure that the message I want to convey get in the right
manner to the client so that they understand each and every thing effectively and respond
accordingly so chances of error can be reduced. Other than this for avoiding the mis
understanding with client I will repeat the message that I communicated earlier with proper
vocalics and para language to ensure that no misunderstanding remains there and client get the
message correctly.
