1DIPLOMA IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE
Early childhood is the period that observes the enormous development and the growth of
an individual. The early years of the development are thus very much critical for the
development of firm foundation in case of knowledge, cognitive and motor development as well
as in case of social, regulatory and moral development (Black et al. 2017). The individuals
engaged in the early childhood care and education workforce plays the most essential role
towards the provision of these experiences in the early years. I have been new in this filed and
recently I have developed some my personal values and beliefs in regards to the early childhood
professions by my few days experience at my workplace in the child care center as an educator.
Besides these experiences I love to go through numerous articles and books related to the nature
and the importance of the early childhood development towards a better a successful growth of
an individual in the near future. My view towards a child and its development encircles the
vision and the purpose of role of the educator towards the shaping of the perceptions and the
expectations of the workforce of the current economy.
The development of the brain in the early childhood generally absorbs what the
environment offers and the environment of the learning that tends to challenge and encourage the
children towards the development (Acecqa.gov.au. 2018). The care and the education given in
the early childhood shapes the foundation of the life helping the emotional, mental and the
academic development of the child.
I believe that the early years of the child are the most ideal phase for the passing of the
values towards the building of prosperous and democratic society. It is thus important for me as
my role as an educator in the domain of pedagogy to provide quality provisioning and support
the children of all the communities together with the children who are at risk (Richter et al.
2017). We, the educators provide care and education to the children in the temporary absence of

their adult caregivers or their family. I abide by all the current best practice and legislative
guidelines of the domain of the early childhood care and development while practicing my role
of an educator in my employment organization of a child care unit.
Two of the most important legislations that I believe that every educator needs to follow are the
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and The National Quality Standard.
According to the charter, each and every person living in the planet is entitled to all the
rights and the freedoms without any distinction or discrimination. Considering family to be a part
of the civil society, it is the responsibility of the members of the family to take care and protect
the rights of the child in the civil society (UNICEF 2018). The United Nations Convention on the
Rights of Child set for the rights of the child in the context of their development and receiving of
proper care and early education. The core principles in relation to the convention includes the
non-discrimination, devotion towards the best interest of the child, the right of the life of the
child towards survival and development and the respect towards the views and the perception of
the child. The rights inscribed in the charter and the principles of the convention is inherent
towards the harmonious development and the human dignity ensuring the development of the
child.
The National Quality Standard (NQS) refers to the key aspects of the National Quality
Framework positioning a national benchmark forth early childhood education and the cate
services in the country of Australia. The aim of the NQS is to provide services and better
understanding to the families regarding the quality of the services and help them towards
informed decision making about the early childhood education services and child care. The seven
key quality area that NQS sets highlighting the importance of the outcomes for the children are

The children's health and safety
The arrangements of the staffing
The collaborative partnerships with the communities and families
The educational practice and programs
The physical environment
The leadership and service management
The relationships with the children
I believe that the children have their very own way to learn and develop. It is the role or
the duty of the educator to introduce some of the playful activities to make the environment of
the education for the children easy, comfortable and fun loving. Maintenance of a positive
relationship together with the fostering of some of the wats to initiate early child development to
the families is an important aspect (Education.gov.au 2018). I furthermore believe that inclusive
and equitable practice in the propagation of the early childhood care and development is
essential. Some of my obligations includes the lack of the engagement among the community
members, the lack of awareness regarding the early child education among the poor section of
the society who does not have the knowledge regrading the rights of the children. It is thus
important to promote the basic human rights of each and every child in the society.
