Introduction
A project communication plan guides every message to the affected stakeholders of that
particular project. In the planning phase of the project, the project manager requires to create a
communication management plan, which helps in providing general requirements of communication
regarding project work [7]. This report describes about the effectiveness of current project
communication plan in the case scenario of public health informatics. An integrated information
system is to be made by the County Health Department so that they are able to deal with detect and
treat infectious diseases or future outbreak easily and promptly. Recommendation would be given
for future project.
Discussion
1. Assessment of CHD’s Current Communication Plan of Project
Current plan of communication of this particular organization of CHD is quite efficient as it is
following each and every requirement of a successful project and will be providing effective
communication to the stakeholders by sharing appropriate data regarding project’s current status
and condition [3]. Change management is possible with this project work and confidential data are
shared for this purpose. Being a policy-driven approach, it becomes quite easy for the project
manager to deliver every important or vital message to other stakeholders like client or investor so
that they are able to get clear update of project work. Communication channels are being used for
this process for sharing communication plan. Moreover, the complexity and issue to manage several
information systems at a time will be resolved and every information will be stored here [1].
Stakeholders of the project are involved here to ensure that all of them get equal opportunity to
deal with complexities and also enhancing collaboration. Moreover, time duration is also mentioned
in the plan to check that whether project would become successful.
2. Compare and Contrast of Communication Plan Assessment with Project Management Practice
Current plan of communication in this specific project of public health information system
could be easily compared and contrasted with practices of project management [2]. These practices
of project management are needed to start a project. Furthermore, these are also needed to create
an efficient plan, make proper execution and finally manage and close the work of project to achieve
major goals and objectives of client in an effective manner. When this current plan of
communication is assessed, it is seen that it is both perfect and proper for making the project
successful. Practices of project management state that it is required to involve every stakeholder in
project plan to ensure that they are understanding all advantages and disadvantages of this
information system [5]. Issue for excess time consumption is also being resolved as project is

executed according to the schedule. Message are communicated with stakeholders and thus
requirements are met, hence fulfilling every category of project management practice.
3. Appropriate Recommendation of Communication Plan in Future Project by involving
Stakeholders from Various Sectors
Although, the current communication plan of this particular project of improving the public
health informatics system is quite effective and could be easily utilized for making the project
extremely successful in comparison to other projects of CHD, there is a higher chance that due to the
bigger size and complexity of the plan, the stakeholders might not be able to use the project easily
and promptly [4]. Apart from utilizing and getting notified for messages, the stakeholders from
different sectors might be facing issues due to the complexity of this particular communication plan.
Moreover, creation of this type of complex and big communication plan has consumed valuable time
of the project schedule and thus excess resources are being incurred in the project, which might be
stated as another important and significant reason for project failure [8]. To avoid this specific
situation, one of the most promising and easy recommendation for the County Health Department’s
present project is involving informal communication. Informal communication is also effective for
reduction of complexity of complicated plan of communication. It is even useful as every stakeholder
will be able to share their unique ideas and techniques.
4. Justifying Recommendation to CHD
Informal communication is recommended to the County Health Department. It is quite
efficient regarding the integrated public health information system project. It is recommended for
the reason that all the stakeholders would be eventually gaining a constant information flow about
how the project is running and how much efficiency is being obtained from the project work [1]. As a
result, the stakeholders can share their significant point of views or suggestions regarding the
advantages or benefits of project work and how well project could be executed without any type of
complexity. Moreover, since their current communication plan is extremely time consuming and
could even use valuable time of the project’s schedule, interpretation of information is possible in
informal communication and all stakeholders are motivated due to direct involvement in the work.
Project efficiency is also improved and maintenance of flexibility is possible here. Another
justification of this particular recommendation is better coordination and collaboration with any
other stakeholders. This is quite effective to reduce the chances of grievances and thus improving
better chance of work friendly and professional working environment in a high level [6]. Hence,
informal communication would be much better after comparing the current communication plan of
public health informatics in the County Health Department and recommendation is justified.

Conclusion
Thus, conclusion could be drawn that current project communication plan of CHD or the
County Health Department is complex and big in size, although it is quite effective and efficient in
comparison to other communication plans of projects. As a result, there is a high chance that the
project will be successful and they would be able to deal with the infectious diseases in a better
manner. However, since the project communication plan is bigger and complicated, there is a scope
of project management failure or misinterpretation of communication. Excess time is incurred for
this purpose and they might not get opportunity to reduce time consumption. The above report has
hence provided a recommendation of informal communication so that it becomes easier for them to
eradicate the complexities of current project communication plan.
