Project Information
Project title: CHD Integrated Information System
The project developed here is for the Country Health Department and is developed to handle the crucial
situations of the disease and disaster. The new hired epidemiologist which was hired by CHD suggested
that the system should have a system that has integrated database and through which information can
be provided on time. Current system has isolated databases and for obtaining data of a particular
patient one has to go through four different systems.
Project start and end dates:
The start date of the project is 4th March 2019 and will take 195 days estimated to develop and will be
completed on 29th November 2019.
Project goals
The aim of the project is to develop the integrated database for the country health department. The
need for such system has been raised because for now the department consists for several databases
which hinder the accessibility for different users. This is significant because in the cases when any
tragedy arises, manager had to take time to access the details of the patient from several different
databases which can lead to any tragic incident. The system is essential as it provides many benefits like
bas stand out for the integrated data, every member of the country health department can access to it
and be able to manipulate the data. For the successful implementation, project manager should provide
stakeholders with the proper and relevant information.
Project Objectives:
The main objective of this project is to develop an integrated database for storing different information
relevant to the country health department. The epidemiologist has to be hired in order to implement
the integrated public health informatics system. Different team members should be hired in order to
develop the system by going through different phases of the development.

Project Requirements
Functional requirements
Functional requirements are needed to implement the integrated database for the country health
department to make the database functional. Following are the functional requirements for the
integrated database:
Operating system: Windows 10, Linux
RAM: min 8 GB
Hardware: CPU
Software: SQL server
Non-functional Requirements
Non-functional requirements are the requirements which specify the criteria for the system. These
requirements are used to judge the system’s operation. The following are the non-functional
requirements:

 Usability
 Maintainability
 Accessibility
 Privacy
 Portability
Human resource requirements
These requirements are essential for the overall development of the project. Different human
resources are involved in this project. Following are the involved the human resources:
Project manager: this is the person who manages the entire project from the very beginning till
the end.
System designer: designer is the person who helps in designing the blueprint of the system.
System developer: developer is one who is responsible for making the system functional.

Database handler: this person is responsible for the handling of the database i.e. he must know
about the advanced database.
System evaluator: this person is responsible to ensure the proper functioning of the system by
evaluating it on the basis of the criteria.
Document head: this is the person who is expert in reporting and writing the document.

Project Scope
The project has the goal to define the objectives to deliver a high quality integrated to help the CHD
department in order to manage the work and to establish a system that can help to gather information
about a patient’s medical data and history of the previous treatments.

The WBS displayed above is to show the series and hierarchy of tasks in the order of tasks and subtasks
arranged in the order of their execution. The main one process is the major project which is the highest
priority work and the remaining are the subparts in which the work will be completed. If proceeded
from down to up (hierarch wise), the work process leads to completion of project (Crawford, 2014).
Time
The time required for the complete development of the system for the CHD will take almost 6 to 12
months to complete. According to the calculations and schedules made in the Times sheet as displayed

The diagram above shows the network diagram of the project development plan for the integrated
database system for CHD. It shows the path followed to complete the project and to reach the final
milestone.

Estimated cost
The cost of the project will be sanctioned from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation also known as the
RWJF which is affiliated by the PHII i.e. the Public Health Informatics Institute. The organization RWJF is
known for supporting the health organizations that are struggling to meet the daily needs of the
organization due to the lack of the funding and capital support.
The project cost is going to include the cost of the human resources which is paid according to their
work and effort required for the project work and completion. The final cost is $21,280.00, and this is
the final cost of core development work. The other costs of the project might include the small charges
for the project related resources like documents and other.

Quality management methods
There are various ways through which the quality of the project is managed. The methods that will be
used to manage the quality of the project developed for CHD are:
 Plan the quality: the requirements of the project and the required features and advancements
will be gathered in the initial phase and the deliverables will be approved. This will allow to set
the checkboxes for quality.
 Quality control: the process in the development and designing will be monitored by individual
supervisors and the overall supervisors will be headed by the epidemiologist. A proper hierarchy
plan will be made in order to make sure that the quality is maintained.
 Quality improvement: for improving the quality of the project and for continuing the system
growth the regular feedback from the people working with the software and the people getting
help from the project will be recorded.
