While working with cancer patients, I have achieved learning while treating them, a
practitioners should use their effective skills to establish communication with them. I am glad
that I have effective communication skills which also facilitate me to provide a better
understanding of the treatment and also available resources that can be help in minimising their
belief that chemotherapy is unlikely to curative which could also compromise their ability to
determine informed treatment decisions that are found to be consonant . In my practice, I
encountered a female name X, who was 49 years old, and was going under the chemotherapy.
During her assessment, I observed that she was having little awareness of resources which are
available in order to achieve best practice and individuals can positively fight back with cancers.
I explained that continual reinforcement throughout the treatment courses are found to be
effective which can also help in ensuring the success.
I have also determined that there are number of visual teaching aids as well that can be
used and also referrals to other professional or the community programs such as cancer support
groups, who work for patients who are dealing with cancer or was dealing with it. (Starobova
and Vetter, 2017) As per my observation and knowledge, there are other resources that can be
used to educate patients that can be used such as structured and unstructured experiences that can
assist individual in their coping along with their diagnosis, treatment, long term and short time
adjustments, their symptoms, can gain the information in regards with prevention, diagnosis,
acute care plan as well as to enhance their skills, education, knowledge as well as attitudes in
order to maintain and regain the health status of individuals.(Role of nurses in the assessment

Before, providing her assistance, I asked her, which teaching tool she will prefer in oder
to take education in regards with best practices in chemotherapy. As per the studies, there are
several teaching tools as well as methods that are found to be available, as the selection of

resources which are available as printed, visual as well as audiovisual educational materials
which are vein implemented in the conjunction additionally along with the core discussion and

there are other resources such as online chat groups which are also found to be serving as a
source of provident knowledge, information, awareness, motivation and also emotional support
to patients, who are dealing with cancers. (Zhang and et. al., 2017)Studies conclude this method
as a method of communication that have potential to be increase source of knowledge for their
consumers. I have encouraged her to maintain and keep personal, written, writing dairy on daily
basis which can also involves records of dates, their symptoms, test, dates and their queries.

I have also explained her, other resources which are also found to be there, which are
essential to know before treatment starts. The material includes which I have explained to her are
options for clinical treatments, informed consent of an individual, the information of sheet of
medicines and drugs as well as information in disregard with individual's nutrition.(Starobova
and Vetter, 2017) \ I have also provided education in regards with psychological stress which is
common, and should be managed by an individual effectively. According to me, I have analysed
that patient's eduction is facilitated when the prevalence of side effects are characterized as early,
immediate, delay and late as well. I have also acknowledge her that there are other support
services and resources which are determined and available to her in treatment as well as in her
rediscovery also. There are complementary services which are also available for an individual
such as Art, Music and Guided imagery and others, that can help her after the treatment. I have
provided learning that there are physical therapy and also Occupational therapy which are also
