Purpose of the quality plan
The definition of patient safety is protecting the patients from different errors, injuries,
infections and from accidents. Some hospitals act nicely in maintaining the safety of the patients
while some hospitals cannot able to perform nicely in maintaining the safety of the patients. So
in order to maintain the safety of the patients it is very essential to prepare a quality plan for both
the purposes of treating and maintaining the safety of the patient. In order to develop a quality
plan at first a goal to be prepared and then from here a bundle of approaches involving
development and systematic execution of the approaches need to be done (Carthon et al., 2015).
Purpose of implementing the quality plan
Quality plan is very essential to implement in order to improve the quality of the patients.
The chosen hospital for maintaining the safety of the patient is Chesapeak General Hospital. In
this hospital the quality of taking care of patients had been deteriorated a lot. According to the
rules and policies of the hospital there are many ways by which everyone can participate in
taking care of patients like speaking about the questions and the concerns, patient paying
attention on the care that they are receiving, educating everyone about the diagnostics, the
medical tests and also about the plans of treatment (Masters, 2016). The hospital also try to
involve the family members to advocate the patient, knowing appropriately what medicines have
to be taken, following an organization of healthcare for following the treatment care plans and
participating about all the care plans but the management of the hospital is unable to take all the
require actions and therefore a quality plan is necessary to prepare.

quality
The mission statement of the healthcare organization is to improve the health and social
well-being of the communities they are serving. Considering the mission statement of the
hospital and the different policies of taking care of the patients, it can be said that the
management of the organization is involved very much with the purpose of taking care of the
patient though at present, the quality of taking care of the patients has deteriorated much.
Different stakeholders who are interested in improving the patients’ safety
The organizational chart of any hospital includes different persons having individual
responsibilities. The safety of a patient is dependent on all of those persons who are associated
with the hospital. The organizational chart of a hospital is given below:

the admission of the patient in the hospital till the release. Apart from all these persons the other
persons who are involved in the care processes of the patients are the society in general which
means that not only the nurses but also the family members must also take care of the patients
(Main et al, 2015). The physicians who is mainly responsible for treating the patients, the
Government and the legislative bodies and the professional nursing associations. All of them are
involved in maintaining the safety of the patients (Christensen & Rybicki, 2017).
