Details of incident:
Tom punched Jennifer in the face, and he persistently tells her off to her room. Tom aggressively
shouts at Jennifer’s mumtoo, further scaring her.
When Jennifer does not want togo to her room immediately, Tom lockedher out of the house for
hours at night. He also threatens to lock her in the cupboard,and this has created state discomfort
and anxiety to Jennifer.
Relevant Background information (Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines:
A safety plan for children with autism should include criticalparticipants, whichinclude the
teacher, neighbors, and extended family members.Another essential thing relates to
confidentiality and the privacy of the child that must be maintained once she confides such
information related to abuse (Cheng 2007, p. 997).
3. Some of the practical approaches to soiling are discussed. First, desensitization is also
crucial to children affected by anxiety.Gradually, the child will be exposed to positive
enforcement of events that cause fear, such as sitting on the toilet.Another approach to
soiling in school for the caregiver to reinforce desired behaviors. The aim is to eventually
help the child to respond appropriately under natural schedules or call of nature (Brown
& Peace 2011, p. 321).
4. They identified the specific toileting policy for this paper is the Riverchapel National
School. The school also supports students with special education needs and it provides
care and toileting needs to these students. If student needs toileting assistance, a meeting
is first convened before and after enrollment with key partners attending. This includes
the special needs assistance, the class teacher, principal, guardians and parent to discuss

the specific needs of the child.The individual needs assistance receives Garda vetting
before assuming duties. The child-sensitive information should be confidential. Finally,
in the event of an accident, the parent must supply wipes and clean clothing. If the
children are unable to clean themselves, then special needs assistance does it in the
bathroom (Riverchapel National School 2019, p.1).

Cases of child abuse should be dealt with confidentiality to protect individuals from
threatening their life further from perpetrators. Withoutconfidentiality, the privacy of the
child is at high risk. When a child confides in another person, the information should not
be disclosed to another person, not enlisted by the family.Not only the abuser can
threaten the privacy of the child but also the classmates should not know. Further, the
teacher must report the incidence from the department for child protection. If the child
wants to disclose the incidence, the department for child protection provides the
guidelines on how to disclose.
The department of communities, child safety, and disability is the leading agency for
child protection and it works with private agencies to counsel and offer support to
victims.In cases, the parent is unable to protect and provide care for their children; the
department of child protection takes the initiative to support them. The department also
lays down the guides and policy for disclosure in addition to maintaining all relevant
documents on the case confidentially. The protection of victims is vital as it ensures the
dignity of the victimis maintained.
