Q1.1 Summarise policies and procedures relevant to promoting children and young people’s
positive behaviour
Behaviour policy/Home school agreements - The main motive of home children agreement
states that fairland primary school will ensure that children are attending school regularly and
arriving at proper time. If the child is going to be absent, parents must inform the cool about
it. Children must be provided with all support and model by the behaviour expectations and
policies of school.
Code of conduct/Golden Rules - The code of conduct is made for both children and
employees in order to provide them positive environment. It is ensured that all electronic
communication with parents, students and employees is compatible with professional role.
The ICT system of school is managed properly in order to help the staff. All the details of
employees and students is confidential and also there are E safety policies.
Rewards and sanctions - There are reward and sanctions systems both at home and on school
premises. Reports will encourage and motivate the children to learn and grow. This will
provide help in in managing the behavioral development of children. Also by doing this,
children is able to know that if he is doing something good and appreciable, he is going to
get good results.
Dealing with conflict and inappropriate behaviour - There are chances of conflict and in
appropriate behaviour at school premises sometimes. This type of behaviour will not be
tolerated in fairings and according to the policy, students must not be involved in any kind of
conflict for inappropriate behaviour. They will be punished for this and at times, strictness
will lead to suspension of children from school.
Anti-Bullying - Anti bullying policy is present within fairlands school in order to protect
students from bullying. There are basically three types of bullying which include physical,
verbal or indirect bullying. The physical bullying include question, kicking, punching,
hitting. Other type of physical bullying is sexual bowling which includes and wanted sexual
contact. The verbal bullying includes calling a person by abusing, sarcasm or vulnerable
names. Is also includes racism and sexual comments on a person. Indirect bullying can be
emotional or cyber. This includes spreading of humus, gossiping or defaming any person on

email or internet. In such cases, school ensure that all people must know what is difference
between bowling and simply falling out. The cases of bullying will be strictly managed by
the school management.
Attendance - The students of Fairlands school must attend school everyday and in case of
absenteeism, they have to provide leave application to the school management. If the person
is going to take long leave then it has to be sanctioned by school management. The leave
applications are required to be submitted by both staff and children in the school.
Q1.2 Explain effective practice in relation to behaviour management
There are various effective practices in context of behaviour management in the fairlands
primary school and nursery. An effective preschool behaviour management is defined as the key
for maintaining a productive and peaceful classroom. In a nursery, there are more than 20
children who have to be managed and these children are below the age of 5. This is not easy to
manage these people, so there must be preschool behaviour management practices within the
premises. An effective preschool behaviour management strategy consist of various practices.
Fairlands nursery can succeed by managing clear behaviour expectations and communicating in
a proper manner.
 Develop clear preschool behaviour guidelines - fairlands preschool must be having
proper guidelines, rules and agreements for managing the classroom effectively. There
are various age group children in preschool and proper guidelines are issued for different
group sector so that it is easy to manage them.
 Follow a daily routine – the primary schoolers must provide a daily routine to children.
They must know what is expected and how to manage the working. Children are
provided daily routine which includes various activities that helps the children to be
planning his or her preschool schedule.
 Stay positive and reinforce good behaviour – each and every organisation thrives for
pride. There is no recognition and calling out when good things are happening in
fairyland preschool. Children are provided clean and safe environment for learning.
Teachers can be more careful about several behaviour of children such as biting,
scratching, etc.

 Use visual cues - there are pictures which speak louder than words. The visual cues for
behaviour guidelines are very important as it requires the actual picture of student while

 Manage translations carefully - while moving within the activities throughout the day, it

students can learn and enhance their growth. This school ensures care and respect for all people
and managing the listening of viewpoints properly. Fairlands primary is a nurturing school and
main aim of this school is to support people by making them actively listening to all the
problems and managing the positive approach for stakeholders. In this case, emotional literacy is
having high priority. There are a number of policies within the school which contribute to
provide a healthy and safe environment to students. These include personal and social

development policy, race equality policy, anti-bullying policy, health policy, etc. Each and every
child within school is provided opportunity for managing the activities at fair lands school. In
this school, staff and employees are also encouraged for working effectively and managing the
monitoring systems and promotion of positive behaviour at the school premises. The basic rules
of this school are ready, respectful and safe.
Managing positive behaviour is the most important aspect on which fairlands is focusing
upon. There are basically two ways for managing positive behaviour which are prevention and
management. Prevention means the strategies and plans which encourage each and every pupil
for developing a sense of self discipline and personality. On the other hand, management
includes turn negative behaviour which occurs when there is no developing off positive way
properly.
There are various responsibilities provided to the staff, parents and pupils of Ireland in order

challenging behaviour in children. School must we having effective knowledge regarding the
possible causes of challenging behaviour. There are different challenging behaviour rhythm
children and it is very important for dealing these in order to have positive learning
environment. Some of the causes are described below
 Behavioural difficulties - there are various learning difficulties which the children is
having and he is not able to express his feelings effectively. Sometimes, the children is
left out due to these kind of difficulties and it may affect feelings and behaviour in worse
manner. It is very important to manage this kind of of cause and immediately take some
good action.
 Health - sometimes, children are not healthy enough for managing the daily activities
which are performed in the school. It is responsibility of the school premises that it is
having positive work environment and different medical problems are solved for the
children. People are informed about health of the children and the way in which he acts
for expressing his feelings.
 Change – it is very important to underlies that whether the children has faced something
unusual and is he reacting in a different manner. It is also seen that is it worth for
managing the the big change which is happening and displaying the challenging
behaviour.
 Learnt behaviour - there are various cases in which children may have learnt that they can
get what they want by acting it to the person. This increases their ability for growth and
development by learning.
 Boredom - this is a challenging behaviour which arises when student is feeling bored
within class and at their work. There is an unrecognised talent that has to be managed
effectively e in order to you have positive communication. This is very important for the
students that they must struggle for staying on track with all the students for or managing
the way for doing good work.

 Home environment - sometimes children are having poor home and management like
frequent arguments, shouting, hostility and in such cases children are not able to groom
properly. There are some cases in which it is seen that there are parents issues like mental
health problem on domestic violence and children are having problem to adopt such kind
of challenging behaviour properly.
 Lack of routine – this consists of managing the lack of routine in order to manage the
home environment. This also creates challenging behaviour for the person. if the children
is not taking enough sleep or is having insufficient support then I will not able to focus
upon learning.
