Case study patient: Lydia
The context of the case study
Lydia is trying to move through the stair case with the help of her mother. Initially the child
seems afraid and unable to climb but later she defines her method of overcoming the stair
case through crawling. Further Lydia is on her colourful mat with her teacher and her friend.
They seem to enjoy the fun together and participate in play activities.
The actions in the case study observation
During her interaction with her mother Lydia is making progress in trying to learn her environment.
In the stair case, Lydia seems not to be willing to climb the stair case as normal. She bends down
and through assistance of her hands she crosses over the stair case through crawling and
eventually crossed over to the other side while her mother observes carefully. While on the mat,
with her teacher, Lydia is seen joyfully playing with he friend and jumping up and down, this shows
positive engagement with the learning environment which they live. Playing actively in the field with
the support of her teacher is crucial ensuring that confidence is built for the child.

In this visual obseravtion it is evident that Lydia really has pleasure of engaging actively with her
