1CHILD DEVELOPMENT
In the book “ Eight-Year-Olds,” the writer has mentioned that an eight-year-old is
adjusting to the change and is quick to bounce back from the mistake and the disappointment in a
short span of time. However, it was very much interesting as observing my won child only I can
say that she is quite the opposite of the fact and takes a lot of time to emerge from the
disappointment, and I can say that she is not yet a team player. This is also relatable to other kids
as well because they do not like to accept the mistake and come face onto reality. These
characteristics of the kids are easily observable (Howenstein et al. 2015). This is well observable
in my behaviour as a kid as well. The author in the 108 pages stating the characteristics of the
nine years old year. She claims that kids at this age are always in a hurry to complete their
answers as they do not think of their own way through the answers. The kids at these ages also
feel that they are singled out by their parents as well as their teachers. In my case, I can relate to
this because my child always shows this kind of tantrum, and this is not only her because I have
observed this in kids in general as well. However, I was quite different as a child and always
concentrated on completing my homework, and proudly, I an say that it has benefited me in the
long run. In the book, it is mentioned that the support system is essential for the children, and I
totally agree with this as I have seen my own child getting upset on the facet of the pandemic
when she unable to go to school and meet her friends. This is also relatable as if the children do
not get the best support system they a; ways attract companies who are not suitable for their
interest (Friedman-Krauss, et al. 2014). I am specifying this because, as a child, I was very
reserved, and I did not have a proper system. As a result, I was always in a bad mood. This is
actually bad for during my adult period also I am giving anger issues within me and I also try to
take it out on others, therefore, I understand the importance of support system and always try to
give my child the benefit and try to be the best support system for her.
