The reflection is based on a scholarly journal article that provides deeper insights into the workings of child labor and potential improvements. The student evaluates the role of organizations, the definition of child labor according to the International Labour Organization, and the driving forces behind the issue, such as poor international laws, poverty, and lack of education. REFLECTION:
Over the time I have observed that child labour is becoming a severe issue in the society and
there is strong need to work on it in order to fulfil corporate social responsibilities. Keeping this
social or business environmental need in my mind I explored a scholarly journal article depicting
this issue in more clear manner.
Description:
I have experienced that with the progress of time the issue of child labour is becoming lethal and
societal approach to deal with the problem is not as appropriate as it should be. In such
predicament I have undertaken an article journal which analysed this situation to the fullest
extend so can present deeper insights, that how the child labour is actually working and how it
can be improved with some additional efforts (Oviawe, 2020)
Feeling:
I was thinking like the organizations would be more aligned with their role in minimization or
eradication of child labour when it comes to social corporate responsibilities but this is not the
complete side of this case. I did not have clarity that what is actual meaning or legal definition of
child labour but the article made it clear to me by citing the appropriate definition provided by
International Labour Organization.
Evaluation:
The best or good part of this process that I came to know different hidden aspects of our
corporate world. The way CSR is being implied the social responsibility towards child labour is
grabbing greater attention of giant organizations (Mulryan-Kyne, 2021) If discuss some bad
things so would articulate that some sensitive thins were missed and the report was presented
using some pre intended literature so it cannot be taken as an utter base to make any conclusion.
Analysis:
Document Page
On the basis of the study it can be analysed that there are some driving forces such as poor
international laws, poverty, lack of education, lack of resources, efforts form government etc. are
those factors which are leading it but it can be controlled and betterment is still possible. On the
other hands, I also found that all the stakeholders are indulged to certain degree in this course of
action. The disproportionate progress of world is nothing but the reflection of such practises.
Conclusion:
So form the practise, is can be summarized that consumer should be cited responsible for such
tremendous happenings since they are having great scope to make extensive changes in the
practise of organizations pertaining to child labour. I personally believe that if they will show off
awareness then can revert better outcomes.
Action Plan:
With this regard, form my personal point of views I would go with some kind of mixed efforts.
As I already concluded that consumers are some of the biggest stakeholders and they are having
great scope to change these predicaments but society, government, NGOs, companies,
educational institution etc. can come together in order to make drastic changes in the practise of
child labour and can pave the way for their betterment.
