Academic study is very essential for an individual to develop their academic skills during the
course of University. They also help me to develop several academic skills in me which help
me to gain knowledge off the field I have chosen to gain the degree. The knowledge which
has been provided during the academic course is related to the course issued by the
University but the activities which are involved in this course help to develop various skills in
an individual which helps them in each and every field of their life to achieve success. There
are several skills which are developed by me during my academic course such as
communication skills teamwork time management and many more which will further helps
me to attain my goals for career. In order to achieve the goals smart goals and objectives are
very helpful for me to develop various skills in me and make me a better person to work with
someone.
CONCLUSION
All above discussion helps to conclude that academic course is very essential for an
individual to develop various skills which helps them to achieve success in their career. There
are various skills which I have been developed during my academic course such as
communication skills time management skills and skills to work in a team which will help me
to develop myself in near future.

TASK 2 Based on Case Study of Child Labour
Introduction
There are hundreds of millions of children all over the world who are forced to work in the
age when they should be forced for learning (Alamri, Almaiah and Al-Rahmi, 2020). They
are forced either by their families or their deprived situations which are the reason that they
became responsible to earn livelihood for their families. According to the International
Labour Organisation minimum wage convention of 1973 child labour refers to work which
has been performed by children of early age in which they should focus on their learning. The
age decided by International Labour Organisation is any work performed till age 12 non light
work till 12 to 14 and hazardous work in age 15 to 17 is considered in child labour. Child
labour is harmful for both physical as well as mental development of a child and liable to rob
their childhood from them. In this portfolio there are various arguments which supports and
are in against of child labour.
Arguments for and against the use of child labour

No child or their parents are willing to rob their childhood and allowed them to work to
fulfil their basic necessities (González, Talavera-Velasco and Gutiérrez, 2020). It is their
deprived situations that a child needs to work in the field in order to provide a good life for a
sustainable life to their families. There are several arguments which supports that child labour
should be allowed in supply chain if if basic necessities are not fulfilled of those families
which are explained below:
 Poverty is the main cause of child labour all over the world. It is their situation life that
they need to work at a very small age. If the issue of poverty has been resolved by
government then it will be more beneficial for a country instead to ban child labour. In
other words to ban child labour it is is recommended able to remove or address the issue
of poverty because it is a basic right of each and everyone to earn their livelihood.
 Some experts argue that banning of child labour will improve the socio economic
condition of children but it is not necessary in each and every case full. There are many
situations in which there are no other person to earn rather than a child in the family.
Taking the right to own in those families will decrease the socio economic condition of
that family which scan make them food less and can make the child feel useless in the

situation. These situations are not good for the growth of child also (Hunter and
Eastwood, 2020).
 In case when child labour has been banned all over the world there are high risk of
increase in illegal activities in the country. The family situations will make the children
restless and banning of child labour by the government can make the children to involve
in illegal activities they do not have any alternative source of income to earn livelihood
for their families. If government wants to ban child labour then they should also provide
some alternative source of income to the children of deprived families so that they can
earn their livelihood with continuation of their education.
 Government can also improve the working condition for children by providing them
benefits in their pay and improved working hours for them instead of banning child
labour it will help them to on livelihood with their full access to the education and
development opportunities. It will provide them development and growth by taking a
proper education which will beneficial for their future and for the economy also (Kokoç
and Altun, 2021).
Arguments against the use of child labour
There are several arguments which are in against of child labour as it is not good for mental
as well as Physical health of children. Those arguments which are in against of use of child
labour are given below:
 Education: The most important part of a life of child which is affected by child labour is
their education. And giving and Labour activities will do in their childhood and they do
not have a proper time to provide to their education. After start a name they have no or
even less interest remain to take education and understand its value (Luo, Liang and Li,
2020).
 Exploitation of human rights: According to the human rights every individual has a right
to get education which should be free E for at least fundamental as well as elementary
stages. Child labour exploits these human rights of children by engaging them in work at
a very small age.
 Lack of Opportunity: Children are engaged in child labour activities at a very small age
which surprised them from their right to get education and they get trapped in the
poverty. The get engaged in labour activities and not able to take education which
diminishes their earnings potential which results in lack of opportunities of receiving
better paying jobs as adults (Menekse, Anwar and Akdemir, 2020).

Conclusion
Above discussion helps to conclude that child labour is a common practice which has
been faced by all the countries all over world. It not only affects the physical health of a child
but also affect their mental health. But it cannot be completely banned by government
because there are so many families which have only one person to earn their livelihood and
that is also a child. In order to prevent child labour in a country government can provide
various alternatives to the families which are deprived to control child labour. The
government can issue some jobs in Government agencies which provide them livelihood by
working at and a time for proper education which will help them to grow and have better
opportunities for their future.
