Identify what an early intervention and strategies could have been put in place for this
family. Provide one example of a program or service.
There were signs of neglect from the very beginning in the case of Amy and Sophie the
two sisters. They were not very clean, their clothes were not clean enough, lunch provided was
of very low quality. These are all indications of apathy from the family which may have further
implications to each. Indeed, it was found that the step father was physically abusing them. As
early intervention the sisters could be counseled in the first stage of the detection of apathy, this
could disclose the problem at an early stage. There is child abuse and protection law in Australia
and NGO’s like “Childwise” work to eradicate such menaces (Childwise.org.au, 2018).
Research and outline the options for addressing the client’s preferences and needs using
the following headings.
1. Residential services—Residential services incorporate gathering homes, foster houses,
commonly worked offices and child equity open and secure authority/detainment offices.
Kids and youth might be put in private settings by guardians, kids' guide social orders,
group get to components or on account of youth equity, requested through the courts.
2. Peer support service—Peer support programs give a chance to people who have
accomplished critical recuperation to help others in their recuperation ventures.

roles, responsibilities and accountabilities.
1. Childwise- They are an NGO who work in rehabilitating children from such
situations, by providing accommodation, mental and healthcare support.
2. Childabuseprevention.com.au- This organization is working with runaway
children and children who go through physical and mental trauma
(Childabuseprevention.com.au, 2018).
3. Police department of Australia- The step father involved in criminal act of child
abuse should be put into trial and punished according to the Australian law.
4. The social service department- This department intervenes in all such cases and
assigns NGOs to take actions and take the children under protective care.
5. Legal agencies- The legal authorities including the courts and all other institutions
of the justice system would ensure no such situation is repeated.
The children in the case study were removed from their home.
1. Discuss how you would advise the mother of this and the reason why- The mother
will be counseled and she will be explained what is her role to help the children.
2. If the mother had a hearing impairment or from a NESB how would you
communicate this information? If the mother is hearing impaired experts to
communicate with her will be brought in and the expert and psychologist will
instruct her.
3. How would you evaluate if this information was understood by all partners?

message is well received by all the parties.

It is to bring to your notice that due care has been taken in the case of Amy and Sophie.
The children were rescued from their previous vulnerable condition. The school alarmed the
department of social services (https://www.dcp.wa.gov.au/) which took up the case for further
enquiry.
The children have been counseled by our experts. The experts are of the opinion that the
children are now in a mentally stable and physically healthy state. When cognitive tests were
being conducted under experts’ supervision the children showed an improved state of mental
health and reciprocated with happy emotions. The father is in prison and it is ensured that he
does not get any further contact with the children. The representatives from the social service
department (https://www.dcp.wa.gov.au/) have ensured that the house they will be staying in is
safe and having all required amenities. The mother has been counseled by the experts and she is
ready to take responsibility of the children. Therefore, it is time that the case is closed from our
end, however regular monitoring will be continued.
