Equity Hub - ARISE. It is the new research consortium which aims to improve the accountability
and enhance health and wellbeing of marginalized individuals working and living in informal
urban spaces in middle income and low income countries. This paper help in improving the
knowledge regarding significance of safeguarding in global health research as well as consider
the way thinking regarding vulnerability relational concept. The paper includes debates on
decolonising science as well as argues for significance of an iterative, continuous learning
journey which is reflective, critical and inclusive of vulnerable people. The safeguarding
literature in Global Health research is limited. The documented participatory processes which
capture situated difficulties, experiences, knowledge and practice of distinct actors is needed
across varied contexts and health issues. The researchers collectively decided to follow the steps
which enable them to learn from one another and co-develop approaches and understandings to
safeguarding which will continue to evolve. It has been found from study that developing the
processes to promote safeguarding in Global Health is significant and requires participatory
processes, partnerships, reflexivity and developing of trust.
