Scenario and definition
The victim of this case is a fifteen years old girl. The girl was a victim of abuse and
negligence. For the transferable job of her father, the girl experienced living with different
societies. At the age of 10 the girl was physically assaulted by a member of the group of family
friends. She was not provided with any counseling to bring back her mental stability. Hence, the
nature of this abuse is physical assault and emotional negligence.
Concern of the caseworker
The caseworker or reformer has various areas to look after for this case. In this particular
case, the pattern of the victim’s response is the main concern. The social worker must investigate
about the relationship of the girl with her parents. Also the person must investigate that if there
any emotional difficulty the child is suffering for the abusing incidents.
Circumstances for the victim and perpetrator
The caseworker must investigate about both the victim’s and perpetrator’s circumstances.
In this regard, the person should follow the micro-system investigation. It will help the reformer
to understand the relationship the victim had with her mother and notice the communication
pattern among them. The caseworker also investigate about any past evidence of similar
obligation associated with the perpetrator.

spite of victimizing the cruelty of physical assault they did not provided any resilience to
overcome from the situation.
Interventions
To provide resilience for the child, the social worker can follow the protective factors as
mentioned by Durlak that can influence the victim to bring back the emotional balance (Durlak,
Joseph and Ferrari). This factors include the capability of problem solving, accessibility to
support some networks supportive parents, and positive climate of the school. Inefficiency in any
of the mentioned factors increases the risk that means encouraging the negative thoughts within
the victim.
