Sequence of development can be defined as normal sequence of developing skills in kids.
On the other hand, rate of development describes speed in which child gets developed. It is
essential to have good understanding about rate and sequence of development so that needs of
kids can be met (Bird-David, 2017).
2.1
There are several factors that impact on child and young people’s development. Poor
health condition is the major element because if health of person is not good then it impacts on
overall development of individual. For instance: if kid has asthma then individual will not be
able to run or be active. Genetic, visual impairments, etc. are some physical factors due to which
person gets failed to be developed as per their age (Hoadley and et.al, 2017).
2.2
Poverty, deprivation, education, etc. are some external factors that impact on the
development of children and young people. If parents are poor then they will not be able to
provide healthy food to their kids. In such condition, their growth gets affected because their
body would not get adequate minerals (Arnett, 2014).

These theories and frameworks help in understanding the behaviour of children and their
way to learn sometime. Early year foundation stage (EYFS) framework is used by care providers
for providing quality care to kids. This assists in ensuring the development of babies and keeping
them healthy. Albert Bandura theory explains that people learn things by copying others. This
assists in presenting right things in front of them so that they can learn good things. Theory of
cognition explains that development of kids highly depends upon their maturity. This assists in
providing proper resources to people so that kids can understand the world and gain new
experiences (Sylvestre and et.al, 2016).

Observation, behaviour moods, written records, information from parents, etc. are various
methods through which children and young people development can be monitored. Information

from parents help in painting a better picture about growth of person so that activities can be
planned accordingly (Pećnik, Matić and Tokić Milaković, 2016).

Disability, emotional influence, environment, language, domestic violence, etc. are
several reasons due to which development of young people and children may not follow the
expected patterns.

Disability impacts on development of kids because physical disability affects social skills
of the person. In such condition, individual fails to coordinate with others properly. This affect
their attitude and behaviour. Physical disability creates problem in performing daily activities
such as play and learn which affect the confidence of person (Child and Young Person
Development, 2016).
3.4
Involvement of social workers can help in providing the counselling to children. By this
way, these kids can work on their speech which develops their confidence. Speech and language
therapist can work for enhancing the learning or communication skills of kids. Youth justice
services can be beneficial for resolving behaviour problems among babies and young people.

This is important because early recognition of these problems support in receiving right
treatment at early stage so that this issue can be abolished soon. This helps in getting the
development back on track (Sylvestre and et.al, 2016).
4.2
Social workers and SEN Officers can work together to support speech, language and
communication of children. They can plan for child’s progress for their development.
Knowledge of specialist and experience of social workers can be beneficial in meeting with the
development needs of kids. When therapist provides treatment to kids then they can give details
to teachers and parents regarding progress so that they can also prepare plan for improving skills
of these people (Bird-David, 2017).

Play and activities are helpful for the development of kids because while playing games,
they interact with others. It encourages them and build their confidence. This helps in learning
communication skills and their issues related to language and coordination can get minimized.

Emotional and intellectual transitions can affect the development of young people and
children. Changes in family situation, poor health conditions, etc. affect the mental status of
person. This emotional aspect impacts on the development of individuals (Child and Young
