1CHILDHOOD PHILOSOPHY
Philosophy Statement
The philosophy statement derived from “NAEYC Ethical Code of Conduct” is of the
idea that a child is devoid of moral values. The acts of telling lies or stealing should be
reprimanded by the teachers and counsel them rather rebuking them. It is the responsibility of
the teacher to inculcate a code of conduct among the students (Naeyc.org, 2019).
In the philosophy statement derived from the article-“The convention on The Rights
of The Child” it is found that if a child inculcates bad habits like disobeying and disrespectful
people around him or her, teachers’ love affection and guidance will help the child to change
his or her bad habits, (Unicef.ca, 2019).
In the philosophical statement that can be derived from the “United Nations
Convention on the Rights of the Child” it is seen that the behaviour of a child should be
guided while the child is exercising his or her right to socialise. Teachers should make them
understand the right manners to interact with the elders. (unicef.org.uk, 2019).
In the philosophy statement mentioned in the article-“flight Alberta Early Learning
and Care Framework”, it is found out that if the teachers observe any behavioural issues with
the children then they should investigate them. Moreover, the teacher should look in to the
different experiments done on a child and observe how they are changing the behaviours of
the child (Unsplash.com, 2019).
Report
With regard to the philosophy statement derived from “NAEYC Ethical Code of
Conduct” it is found that the behaviour which is devoid of moral values will harm the child in
future. In such cases rate of ignorance to the morality increases as the child grows up and if
the child is not educated about importance of the moral values in life this may destroy his or

her future. This is the prime obligation of the teacher. Hence teachers should take immediate
steps like counselling the child (Naeyc.org, 2019).
For the philosophy statement derived from -“The convention on The Rights of The
Child” it is believed that a child’s act of disobeying and being disrespectful to others will
create a negative image of his or her to minds of others and this will cast upon a reverse
impact on the child’s life. The child will never receive love, respect and assistance from
others, if he or she continues the same habit in future. Hence, teachers should convey the
consequences of being disrespectful to the child to change such behavioural issue (Unicef.ca,
2019).
.With respect to the philosophy statement derived from “United Nations Convention
on the Rights of the Child”, it is observed that if a child is not well mannered it will raise
questions about the social standard family as well as upbringing of the child which will curb
the dignity of the child and his or her family as well. Hence, a child should be educated about
the power of good manners. Teachers should explain to the child how good manners can
grown the power to convince in a child, how well-mannered people can turn any negative
situation into a positive one, how the well-mannered people are always appreciated and loved
by others. Most importantly the teachers should elaborate the child that good manner reflects
social standard and create perception about the family background of a child. Teachers may
also make provision for the counselling of the student in such cases. (unicef.org.uk, 2019).
The philosophy statement derived from -“flight Alberta Early Learning and Care
Framework”, is of the opinion that the teachers should take out some time to keep a watch to
the experiments through which the child is learning. If it is found that the experiment
involves keeping bad company which is creating behavioural issues, making the child

disobedient or inculcating bad habits in the child, then the teachers should make them realise
the negative changes in them and their consequences (Unsplash.com, 2019).
In the conclusion, it can be said that, the behavioural issues of a child should be
solved immediately. This is only possible with the aid of the teacher as it is the teacher who
has a significant impact on the learning ability of an individual.
