INTRODUCTION
An early childhood centre is a care centre which is used for the education and training of
more than at least 3 children who are not the children of the person providing the training. These
centres are for the pre-schooling period of the kids. The educators of such a centre needs to
understand certain aspects which are explained in the essay. This essay will help in
understanding the ways in which the educators can improve their teaching styles for these young
children.
MAIN BODY
In an early childhood centre the children which are sent for receiving education and study
are very young. Due to this they need extreme care from the educators. The educators are
required to provide the children education according to National Quality Framework and care
facilities with the NSW planning system. Under the regulation 126 of the education and Care
services in the early childhood centre the 50% of the educators are required to be qualified at a
diploma level. Educators of these centre play a very important role in the education of the
children. They are help responsible for supporting and leading the children to their development.
They do this with the help of designing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational
programs. These are implemented by the educators for an approved learning framework. It is the
duty of the educators to support the health, well-being, learning and also the development of
children. It is also important for the educators to work with the community members and also the
external agencies in order to collaborate with them. The educators need to lead and contribute for
providing the right support that will help to meet the National Quality Standards. The educators
should know how to manage the variety of education and care services Siraj, Kingston &
Neilsen-Hewett (2019)
According to the Australian Children's Education and Care quality Authority the national
law and regulations provides the approval for providing the services of services and education.
The authority provides the educational centre assessment for the educational program and other
practices which will help in the educational development of the children. Safety and children's
health is very big concern for the early childhood centre for which this authority has established
certain rules. This authority has said that the physical environment of the centre needs to be safe
and secure for the children. The number of staff which look after the kids should also be
maintained by the centre. It is important for the educators for developing very good skill for the

children which will help to improve education service. It is important for the educators to
collaborate with the family of the children so that they can understand their special needs and
requirements Zabatiero & et.al., (2018)
For improving the teaching skills during teaching the young children the educators of
early childhood centre can firstly try to build good understanding of each child learns. The
approach towards such teaching matters the most. It has been understood that the children
understand in different ways and different rates. With the help of analysation, it has been found
out that students respond better to some kind of physical response or activity. For teaching them
something the educator needs to demonstrate them by doing it on their own. These young
children find curiosity in new things which helps them in learning, When the educators are
successful in surprising the students with a new activity it grabs their attention, and they respond
better to them. There are some children which prefer talking and educators can talk to them or
read them stories for developing their language and also making them learning good morale.
Young children are very excited about physical activities. This keeps them happy and playful all
the time Frank (2018). The best way of teaching children is by making them take part in some
kind of play full activity. The students learning by observing the teacher, the educators should
also test the abilities of these kids once they start learning. This will help the educators to
understand the progress of the children. There are situations were the child that do not know how
to talk properly may learn to sing a poem as it is a fun activity for them. Developing friendship
with the children provides the teacher great opportunities for communicating with them and
understanding what issues they have.
Importance of standard 2.2 to quality education and care and safety to children
In regard to standard 2.2, it is found that children have rights to be protected and kept
safe at educational centre. The reason behind it is to improve overall quality of lives because
unsafe condition can have negative impacts on their physical health and well-being. Physically
affected children find difficulties in learning and in gaining knowledge. Whereas, children at
educational centres and care services who are protected safe and have widening network of
secure relationship are more likely to improve their learning and feel confident. There are some
areas on which people need to focus for providing safety to children at educational centres such
as: identifying ways of protecting children from supervision risks, an effective plan that can
make sure that all areas used by children are supervised effectively Sandseter & et.al. (2017).

People also need to make sure that when and why children participate in high risk activities and
how they can be protected from negative impacts, how they can be made aware about being
protective and safe at educational centres.
Other main areas on which standard 2.2 of health and safety for children focus include:
identifying ways of assessing and managing records of hazards or making a list of products that
may put children in danger Barrett, Flynn & Welch, (2018). The reason behind focusing on this
area is to develop strategies accordingly in order to protect children from dangers and accidents
at educational centres. This standard 2.2 of health and safety for children also ensure that all
materials that educational centres are using have an ability to meet safety standards that include:
sun protection and others. As per the national standard quality 2.2.2, it is ensured that all children
at educational centres are protected and being kept safe. This standard helps people in making a
plan to manage incidents as well as emergencies that may be developed in consultations with
relevant authorities practiced. Standard 2.1 is all about healthy eating and staff or educators teach
children as how they can improve their health by eating healthy. Menu is also being developed as
per the all rules and guidelines of this standard that can promote healthy eating World Health
Organization. (2018). Food and nutritional values of drinks are being provided to children that
can help them out in improving their immune.
Standard 2.2.2 of safety to children focuses on physical activities. It is believed that
children who participate in outdoor games and physical activity are more likely to seem fit and
healthy as compared to those who do not participate in physical activities. Physical activities at
educational centres are being promoted by planned experience and it makes sure that the kind of
activities that they are going to plan is appropriate for each child National Quality Framework,
Quality Area 2, (2019). Active play for children under 5 years include: structured as well as
unstructured free play like walking to a destination rather than using stroller. Dancing, free play
in playground, creative movement, action games, problems solving activities and others are kind
of some structured and unstructured physical activities that are being promoted as per this
standard in order to keep children safe and healthy at educational centres.
Standard 2.2.3 that is related to child protection makes aware to educators, management
as well as to staff about their roles and responsibilities to respond to every child who are at high
risk of negligence. So, as per these roles of this standard, it can easily be said that this child
protection act plays a vital role in providing safety to children at educational care centres and

improving their learning. When staff performs their duties and understand their roles then
children are more likely to feel valued, motivated towards increasing knowledge and learning all
new things. It can also be said that this standard can help all children in improving their learning,
being fit, healthy and develop their career in the future American Academy of Pediatrics, (2019).
So, on the basis of effectiveness of this standard 2.2. it can clearly be said that by following all
these rules and performing functions as per the standard, learning of children can be improved.
Health and fitness is vital for improved learning in children.
CONCLUSION
It has been summarized from the above essay that children’s health and safety plays a vital
role. Standard 2.2 related to health and safety makes sure that all children at educational centres
are safe. Health and safety standards help children in improving their learning that boost their
confidence and improve their knowledge.
