1REFLECTION OF CHILDHOOD INCIDENT
An incident is an instance when something happened and which has effect on our life.
This essay throws light on an incident that took place in my childhood when I was punished
for manifesting wrong behaviour.
An incident in childhood when I was punished for doing something wrong was when I
hid the key of a cupboard of the kitchen. I hid the key because that particular cupboard
contained chocolates, chips, biscuits and cookies and I was not allowed to take things out
from there at my own will. My cousin Molly was an accomplice in this mischievous act of
mine and we wanted to teach a lesson to my parents (Solberg, 2015).My mother was working
in the kitchen in the morning and I knew that she would go for a bath at around 12 noon. I
would take the opportunity of this moment to grab hold of the keys so that it will create panic
in the family. I had hid the key under my bed and when my parents started to search all the
rooms they were able to find it. I was punished for my misconduct and I was told that I would
not be given permission for watching television for a week (Wolff, 2017). My parents knew
that I loved watching the cartoons on television and this punishment would serve as a
reminder that I do not engage myself in these kinds of acts in the future.
My act of hiding the keys was punished by my parents and this incident prevented me
from engaging in any kind of wrongful acts in the future.
