Lessons
I have experienced effective parenting for which I consider myself to be very lucky. My family
members are well educated and great achievers. My mother and father both are self-made
individuals. I lived in an environment where the people who surrounded me were hard working,
which motivated me. My family inculcated in me certain skills and qualities which any other
individual might not have learned in their entire lifetime (da Silva Fernandes, Megid, de Almeida
& Ferreira, 2016). I realized at an early stage of my childhood that nothing in this world is free,
expect the love that I received from my parents. We have to earn everything by working hard,
and I never got any gifts. So to get my favorite things, I had to either solve my mathematics
problem or be best in sports. I never received any unnecessary luxuries. Communication played a
vital role in developing my relationships with my friends and family members (Gallois & Giles,
2015). I had to manage everything by myself like walking in scorching heat for half an hour to
get an auto and sometimes I used to cover distances by walking to save my pocket money. They
enriched me with precious experiences by taking me to various places around the world. My
family taught me how to be successful with honesty and decency, and I was very clear that there
is no substitute for hard work.
