Background of the research
Maintaining healthy life is more important consideration in which proper balance
required in diet that accompanied with regular exercise. In this way, physical and mental health
with well-being can be successfully maintaining which is more effective for preventing excess
weight gain or loss. In this context, it is important for children to eat healthy diet with vegetables,
fruits, etc. Being overweight or obese contributes with numerous health conditions that limit the
quality and length of life for example Hypertension (Mokry, Ross and Richards, 2016).
Rationale of the research
Childhood obesity and excess weight are significant health issues for individual children,
families and public as well. It can be considered serious implications for physical and mental
health of a child which must be followed on into adulthood. There are several numbers of
children continue to have an unhealthy and potentially dangerous weight which is concern with
national public health. Healthcare professional play an important role that positively helps
families to take actions (Brauer, Gorber and Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care,
2015). Working along with other professionals and public health teams also influence population
at level action. Action across the child life course is essential which impact on childhood obesity
and enable to positive behaviour change in relation to eating and activity.

In the research study, it can be stated that there are several factors contributes in the
process of research selection and specification. They are as follows: Researcher interest: Researcher has wide interest in health and social care. Furthermore,
due to children obesity there is wide interest to identify reasons and factors exists in it.
This is because, obesity harms children due to several elements such as emotional and
behavioural, school absence, low self-esteem, etc. (Dumay and Cai, 2015). Due to high
cholesterol, breathing difficulties, etc. occur because of obesity. Researcher knowledge: Researcher also possess obesity and overweight that are linked to
wide range of diseases such as diabetes, asthma, hypertension, cancer, heart disease, etc.
Obesity is also associated with poor psychological and emotional health, poor sleep and
many children experience that are linked to their weight. Obese children are more likely
to become obese adults which create higher risk of morbidity, disability and premature
mortality (Dang and Pheng, 2015).

stated that healthy weight is extremely important part of overall health. Maintaining healthy

must consider healthy diet and different types of food that can be easily eat by children. All
children must eat regularly with healthy snacks so that it helps to encourage wide variety of
nutritions foods. Furthermore, fresh vegetables and fruits instead of processed snack foods must
be implemented which helps to maintained to combat obesity in children of UK. However,

offers that refused as well. It includes food that are according to child choice in the family menu

in the present research that used to carry effective analysis of the data and information. In
this way, present study based on qualitative information that assists to carry data analysis
on the basis of opinion, views, etc. of respondents (Quinlan, Babin and Griffin, 2019). Data collection: In the present research, primary and secondary both kinds of data used
that assists to focus on relevant information collection that is required to attain desired
level of results. Data analysis: In the present study, thematic analysis has been considered successfully
that helps to focus on the relevant information gathering in the whole research.
 Sampling: With this regard, it can be stated that there are two ways such as probabilistic
and non-probabilistic to collect appropriate data and information in whole research. With
