1.1
There are different kinds of strategies that can be used to introduce an infant, toddler,
preschooler and a school aged child to the natural environment and outdoor space, such as:
Infant and toddlers who can crawl should be brought outside in a safe natural environment
should be allowed to crawl in order to explore natural environment and outdoor space
themselves under adult supervision. This will directly help them in exploring outdoor space.
Pre-schoolers can be brought to play stations like park etc. o that they can play with nature,
and get comfortable with natural environment but before that safety of children should be

outdoor space on their own without safety. So, for such pre-schoolers with special needs

imaginative thinking etc.

There are various ways in which one can show respect and care to environment, such as:
by using reusable bags and avoiding usage of plastic bags, recycling and use things as much as
possible. Other than this, by abiding wastage of water, electricity, non-renewable resources etc.
By planting more and more trees and avoid cutting down or removal of trees or plants.

Recycling boxes is an ideal activity for children in which they can participate as it involves
recycled resources to be used. Parents can work with children for covering boxes with white
papers, cutting it into different shapes using natural resources such as pipes, thread etc. children
can also use paint, flowers etc for decorating boxes that are required to be recycled.

items like sand to enhance creativity of children.

Ways in which development of life skills in children in growing and preparing food can be
promoted are: life cycle of plants and animals can be explained to development of plants and
animals. They can be taught bout where food comes from and how it looks like before it is
seen on plates and ways in which it is prepared, ways in which plants are taken care of, what
happened when a food is squeezed.
Considerations that should be kept in mind while creating these spaces for children are: safe
gardening space should be chosen which is not harmful for children.

promoted are: by making children choose items that have less packaging and for this
discussion about packaging, types of packaging and ways in which it can be reused can be
discussed.
Considerations that should be kept in mind while creating these spaces for children are:

products can be converted into useful things.

provides a diverse and risk experiences to children that promote their learning and development.
PERFORMANCE TASKS
Task 1
Children can be provided with natural and recycled materials in indoor and outdoor
environments such as: providing leaves for printing, feathers for painting, using mud or sand for
building castles etc.
Interdependence between people, plants, animals and the land can be explained to children by
explaining ways in which animals are dependent upon land and plants for food and living, plants
are dependent upon animals so that that land can be used for making it fertile and for growth of
plants, this interdependence can be explained.
Different kinds of information should be shared with children to access resources about
environment so that they can learn impact of human activities of environment. This provision of
information about different human activities and environment can directly help children in
learning impact of people upon environment and other environment related activities.
For promoting life skills in the growing and preparation of food, waste reduction and recycling,
children can be provided with certain task to participate into such as panting trees and taking care
of those trees, asking them to prepare something from waste cardboards etc.
Task 2
Current sustainability practices: only recycling of waste products sustainability practices adopted
at workplace.

Instead od spray cleaners soap water mixed with spirit and vinegar can be used. Instead of
disinfectant wipes neat vinegar can be used.
Changes in sustainable practices that can be adopted is using water in an appropriate manner by
reducing wastage of water such as water used for washing hands can be used for planting or
toilet cleaning.
By changing hand washing system so that all the water used for washing hands is collected and
can be used variety of different purposes so that usage and wastage of water can be reduced.

By providing sustainable practices education to children and encouraging them to participate in
