Summary
Jessica Satsky, a college student wrote the position paper with the name “Children Need to play,
Not Compete” in which she takes the position that prepared sports is not goof for the children in
among the age of six and twelve. This is evidence that organised sports for Children have been
improved dramatically in United States.
The concern that is presented by the Jessica Satsky is all about the organized sports actions for
children for the age group of six to twelve. In US, the sports market is highly prepared
competitive sports which include Peewee Football as well as Little League Baseball are often
played by the adults as it is formed in an inappropriate way majorly for the children as it leads to
the physically as well as the psychologically harmful. Statsky show the opinion that when
obsessive parents and coaches levy the adult criteria on children sports which might consequence
in neither satisfying nor valuable to children. The author view is that children deal with the
injury in the organised sports that affect the development of children in near future. In such
sports, the major emphasize is done on competition as well as on wining the sports but this
unfortunately offer the occasion for parents as well as children with the motive to place their
needs ahead of the welfare of children (Launder & Piltz, 2018). However, the argument is done
by the parents of children because they cannot initiate soon formulating to live in the modest
free-market economy.
Critique
In the organised sports, the children deal with the physical injuries as well as psychologically
issues. There is a reason to believe author oppose to young children to attack football game as

this is not the correct stage of expansion for them to be skilled. In addition, this has been evident
that even the children who are participating are not wounded; the terror of being offended
diminishes them from the satisfaction of playing sport. The main point that is reflected in the
essay is that too much competition in the early life influences the child development. Besides
physical hazards and worries, modest sports position different psychological hazards for the
children that create the impact on the plans. In addition missed thinking about the children
opinion and their willingness that matters in sports (Boyette, 2016). Apart from it, the sports
curriculum study is also important for the children as this teaches them lessons in life.
She might have gotten wrong for perception of injuries as sports is also beneficial for the
children as it offers them fitness, cooperation, sportsmanship as well as the performance of the
individual performance. In addition, the child has always gotten to full maturity deprived of
significant the dissatisfaction of loss or joy of wining. This is evidence from the point that
children develop the skills and health since the childhood that comes from the activities that are
performed by them. For instance; a children who take the participation in football since the age
of 10 years remain fit and develop the skills of sportsmanship that helps them in making the right
selection in near future. Winning and losing might be a predictable portion of the mature life but
they should not be portion of childhood (Stefansen, Smette & Strandbu, 2018).
