Which University should I Choose to do my Accountancy Degree with?
Analysis
The accountancy profession entails a variety of elements which must be taken into
account in the event of practicing the profession. It is therefore of significance to pass through
the right institution which offers the necessary skills and knowledge relating to the accountancy
profession. There are a number of factors to consider when selecting the type of higher learning
institution which offers an accounting degree and this has to take into account the key skills and
knowledge which every particular accountant must possess. The university which has been
selected for doing accountancy degree is the Central Queensland University (CQU) based in
Australia. The university has been considered as one of the best institutions across the country
which offers a quality degree in the accounting profession. It has been ranked at position three
among all the universities offering a degree in accounting. It would, therefore, be prudent for my
degree course.
Research
There are other many reasons which make the Central Queensland University appropriate
for my degree in accounting. One of the fundamental reason is that it has some of the best,
qualified, knowledgeable and highly skilled professors of accountancy. Most of the professors
have got lots of experiences and this is because of the many years which they have taught the
subject (Martin‐Sardesai, Irvine, Tooley & Guthrie, 2017). Further, their experiences have been
nurtured by the numerous training they undergo and also including the fact that they practice the
accounting profession. With the practice of the curse in the real life, the professors typically gain

more skills and experience which they pass on to the students to enhance their skills and
knowledge while studying the course at the university.
Apart from the above mentioned reason, the other reason why I would choose to study
my accounting degree at Central Queensland University is because it offers a great career
opportunity for the course. The demand for accountants in Australia has increased and this is not
in the banks only but also there are certain organizations which also require typically skilled and
highly qualified accountants (Rodan, 2016). Such highly qualified and skilled accountants are
required to increase new ventures by different organizations can only be made in CQU.
The other reason why I would select the Central Queensland University for my degree in
accountancy is because it provides the wanted professional skills in accounting in the job market.
Such professional skills offered by the institutions enables any particular individual to become
competitive in the job markets. Further, the university offers certain subjects related to the
accounting profession which are considered as more practical in the job market (Jeewandarage,
2015). Unlike in the other universities which typically provides typically theoretical knowledge
on accounting and other operations of a particular organization. Such practical subjects offered in
Central Queensland University relating to the accountancy profession enables the various
students to obtain certain skills such as the technical and analytical skills. With the above
mentioned skills, I would be able to develop professionally after graduating from the institution
thereafter.
Another reason for selecting Central Queensland University for my degree in
accountancy is because it is affordable. The affordability is in terms of the price of tuition fees
for the specific degree (Ibbett & Wheldon, 2016). It is cheap and this is in comparison with the
other universities across the country. Unlike in the other universities in Australia which offers

the same course at a price which is twice that of CQU, the CQU provides the same course at half
the tuition fees of the accounting degree making it less expensive.
Evaluation
The degree offered in accounting by the university is recognized internationally and this
would make it easy for me to secure a job after graduation in the international platform. There
are just a few of the higher learning institutions offering the same course in Australia which have
been recognised worldwide (Hutchings, Bainbridge, Bodle & Miller, 2018). The Central
Queensland University is, therefore, the choice for doing the degree in accounting due to its
global picture all over the world and not just in Australia.
The Central Queensland University has also adopted an advanced technology of teaching
accounting profession. Such a new technology has replaced the normal debit and credit technique
and this would me become competitive in the technological world (Chaplin, 2017). The new
technology also offers knowledge of Xero and MYOB which have been considered as some of
the most vital services of accounting required by many organizations in Australia. The above
reason typically forms one of the key reason for selecting CQU to pursue my degree in
accounting.
Answer
According to Australia (2016), the success of any degree course in any particular higher
learning institutions depends on the available resources for imparting knowledge. The Central
Queensland University has been considered as one of the universities with numerous resources
for teaching the accounting course. Such resources range from adequate professors who are also
skilled to sufficient books to be used for references and provision of knowledge. It is therefore

because of the adequate and available knowledge which forms one of the reasons for selecting
Central Queensland University for the degree in the accounting profession.
The Central Queensland University is considered as one of the few learning institutions
in Australia which understand and knows social innovation which is critical for any particular
accountant in real life situation. There are numerous principles of social innovation which have
been developed for all the faculties and this also includes the faculty of business where an
accounting degree is offered. With such social innovation skills, I would be able to solve certain
real life challenges both internationally and locally which could also be applied in the
accountancy profession once I enter the job market. The above mentioned reason typically
constitutes one of the reasons for selecting the university to study the accounting degree.
According to the recent study, it was found out that the university has some of the most
significant graduate outcomes in the country (Abeysekera, 2015). The rate of full-time graduate
employment is about 10 percent higher than the other universities and therefore it would be easy
for any particular graduate to secure a job in the market. I would, therefore, choose CQU due to
its support to almost all the graduates to secure a job after graduation.
