Christian Psychology has always occupied a vital place in the counseling. There have been
numerous literatures that throw light on the counseling methods based on Christianity and the
principles of Christian faith. Of course, the character and teaching of Jesus Christ becomes the
primary center from where the approaches originate. There have been many agreements and
disagreements among the scholars of Christian Psychology. Here, the case of Rick has been
taken up.
Discussion
Let’s us briefly get an idea of what is Christian Psychology?
There has been higher clinical application of Christian Psychology as it has helped people in
understanding their life and gain a perspective and understanding. In the case Rick we can see
that there are many approaches of Christian Counseling that can be applied.
Let us look what exactly is the issue that Rick is dealing with and how it has affected the
working pattern of tis life The job that he is doing is involves hard work and physical labor.
Often the travelling and constant hassle of the traffic instills a sense of irritability in people. In
case of Rick his job pattern is combined with his already angry nature to result in a worse
situation (Schnitker et al, 2017).
It is important to understand the authenticity of Christian theology and Christian psychology as
the doctrines are several hundred years old and it is indeed difficult to debate on the authenticity
of it without having proper research on it (Watts, 2017).
In this case of Rick we see that he is angry and that he needs anger management. Anger is
considered to be one of the vices in Christianity if practiced beyond a limit and there are many
theological approaches to it.
According to 1 John 2:11 anger makes the people blind and this is the worst side of the angery
people that they are not able to see the anger that is working within them and it nearly becomes
impossible to detect the anger when the anger is in action. In the end we see that Rick and people

like Rick do admit to the fact that anger does nothing apart from loss, there has to be some
solution that should be sowed in the hearts and minds helping in elimination of unnecessary
anger (Tobia et al, 2017).
In the book Counseling and Christianity: Five Approaches by by Greggo and Sisemore, the
hypothetical character of Jake with complexity is being brought to usefulness to find solution to
a number of problems. Out of all the approaches that include Explanation Approach, the
Integration Approach, the Christian Psychology Approach, the Transformational Approach and
the Biblical Counselling Approach, there can be effective use of Christian Psychology Approach
in case of Rick (Claes, 2017).
Conclusion
Hence with Christian Psychology Approach, Rick should be introduced to life and teachings of
Jesus Christ who and the ideas of patience and wisdom has the solution to all kind of vices in
human beings.
