1. Project Charter
1.1 Purpose
Construction projects are in high demand in the recent times and thus the construction
companies are highly demanded to create substantial form of research for the creation of
beautiful projects. The primary purpose of the report is to put major form of focus over research
in the various areas of project management in relation to designing of a ceremony for the
flagship event for the East Kent Cider Festival event. The event based on designing of the event
stage and other arrangements would likely to take place before the main event that is held on an
annual basis. The primary purpose of performing the project is to mark the occasion before the
start of the project based on refurbishment. The East Kent Cider Festival would mark the end of
the old theatre and would attract guests from all over to participate during the event.
1.2 Scope
During the design of the project report, each of the necessary aspects in relation to the
project such as the financial aspects, project scheduling, assumptions and constraints would be
discussed. In the following parts of the report, the different tasks would need to be planned and
discussed in such a manner that it would thus be able to achieve the expected outcomes from the
project.
The financial analysis that would be described for the project would be helpful in listing
out the costs that would be set for performing each of the activities performed. Creating a list of
each of the activities would help in understanding the exact cash in-flow and out-flow of money
spent for the project.

This report would also discuss the different kind of assumptions in relation to the project.
These assumptions would be helpful in understanding whether the project would be performed in
a proper manner based on considering each of the necessary inclusions made. By describing the
assumptions made for the project, it would be helpful for understanding whether each of the
tasks mentioned within the project would be met successfully. On the other hand, the constraints
that would be described for the project would be describing the boundaries that might be set for
the concerned project.
1.3 Objectives
The objectives of the construction project based on refurbishing the Ye Olde Barn theatre
are described as:
 To meet with the set directions and instructions provided by the local council at Ye Olde
Barn
 To design a proper architecture based on bringing some form of innovation during the
festival event
 Completion of the project within the proper time period and appropriate budget
 To identify and mitigate each of the approachable risks towards the projects with proper
efficiency
1.4 Assumptions
The project is based on understanding each of the aspects in relation to the design and
arranging for the East Kent Cider Festival. The assumptions that could be set for the
refurbishment project are listed below:
1. The entire planning for the project would be approved by the local council.

2. The event would become a huge success based on the proper amount of planning and
engagement during the event.
3. Each of the budget that would be estimated for the project would be proper. The
sponsors within the local council would be able to provide sufficient budget to complete the
project.
4. The event design project would comply with the laws based on project management
and event planning and management. The laws set by the Government during any work of
construction would be heavily followed during performing the work of event design.
1.5 Constraints
The project managed by the CCC Developments Ltd. could have some form of
constraints. These kind of constraints could be further be managed by CCC Developments Ltd in
order to develop a proper form of project as described by the council. The different constraints
that could affect the project are:
1. The budget estimated for the project can be discussed as a major constraint. Any extra
changes if required during the execution stage of the project would need a sponsorship.
2. The time taken in order to complete the project is limited as directed by the council.
Hence, the project team involved with the project should have a proper understanding of each
stage of the project.
3. The health factor of the labours working for the refurbishment project can also be
defined as a certain constraint. These labours would only be directed to work in a certain region.

4. The layout of the event has been properly set by the management team and thus the
work of stage design would be limited according to a certain set of practices.
5. The CCC Developments Ltd and the concerned employees and labours would be
bounded according to the laws set by the Government. These laws are in relation to safety
requirements, employment law, building and planning regulations.
1.6 Quality Measurement Criteria
The project based on the development of an event would be completely judged by the
council. Quality is a major factor that should not be compromised. Hence, the local council
would look into each necessary details and thus approve over the same. Moreover, in order to
increase the efficiency of performance, the council would implement the ISO 9000 series of
quality management. This would help in understanding the ways in which CCC Developments
Ltd could be evaluated and thus the performance would be managed.
