Abstract
In the report, the design reflection is been created on the basis of ticket booking system or the
application for the tablet devices via design principles and the requirements of the users. The
application named as “Cinema Hall”. For providing better interaction between user and the
system, the application is designed with the help of Balsamiq Tool. In this application, users can
directly book tickets via tablet devices and also booking their parking space to park their
vehicles. The design is so flexible and looks so attractive and easy while using it. It is designed
on the basis of future perspective and the additional features are also implemented for making
the better image in the competitive market.
Introduction
The application of booking tickets was designed on the behalf of the cinema hall by using design
principles. The design principle is so helpful for making the design so simple and attractive to
the customers. It is designed for booking the ticket for movies and the parking slot in the cinema
hall premises. In the article, it is similarly discussed about the smart cinemas for booking tickets
and finding the seats in the cinema hall. It presents the new approaches for utilizing the smart
technology in the meaningful and the practical manner to make easy for finding seats in the
cinema halls. From the box office, they cannot able to get seats with their choice, so the
application is designed where customers can select their seats by their choice and their
satisfaction. In the recent days, our application is been designed on the basis of requirements of
the users where it completes the advance or the extra functionality for booking tickets directly
from the application and also save a lot of time (Duman, et al., 2018).
Reflection of the Interface Design
a. User Interface Designs for the application
The ticket booking system is designed via design principles for the users where they can book
their movie tickets by their own and also book their parking space to park their vehicles. There
are many design principles which are used for designing the application based on mobiles or
tablet devices. There are some principles that are defined below:
1. User Control and Freedom
This principle provides the control over the functionality of the screens where users have the
freedom to make changes. In the application, this can be viewed in the selecting seat screen
where customers can select their seats manually (Quiñones & Rusu, 2018).
2. Visibility of System Status
This principle provides better visibility of the status of the screen where users can view the
functionality on the spot. In the application, it can be viewed in the selecting seats where it can
be viewed the increment of the amount in the footer of the screen.

This principle helps to make the application with real-world objects considering the common
requirements of the users. In the application, it can be viewed in Movie screen where the screen
is fully instructed with the names of movies and their booking price.
6. Flexibility & Efficiency of use
This principle helps to make the application so flexible and efficient for the customers while
using the application. In the application, it can be viewed on every page of the ticket booking
system.
7. Error Prevention
This principle helps in preventing the application from errors done by mistakenly by the
customers. In the application, it can be viewed in login screen where validations are been
provided for wrong inputs.
8. Documentation and Help
This principle helps to provide the terms or suggestions to the customers. In the application, it
can be viewed in the login, registration and the payment screen where suggestions are provided
to the customers in each step (Ahmed, et al., 2018).
9. Aesthetic & Minimalist Design
This principle helps for making the design artistic or attractive with the proper image
identification and the simple and sober design. In the application, it can be viewed on every page
with proper images, buttons, and other components.
10. Consistency and Standards
This principle helps to make the application so consistent in every phase. In the application, it
can be viewed on every page with the proper size of button, text and other components.
b. How my designs meet user requirements and enhance their experience.
The application is design on the behalf of booking the movie tickets via online medium. The
basic requirements of the customers are implemented in the design of the application. Can
register by their own with the use of registration form. After that, they can log in via login
credentials. Customers can view the list of movies running in the cinema hall. Register via

mistake. In the application, it can be viewed in the logout popup, where users can select “No” if
they don’t want to log out from the application else select “Yes” for logging out from the
application.

movie details by clicking on the movie icon or image. Almost 10 theaters are presented in the
designed application. Can book tickets via selecting the given time of movies. Also, customers
can print the receipt of the bookings. Customers can book space for parking their vehicles.
c. What factors influenced my design, how they influenced it and why?
- Design principle: The design principle used for making the application so consistent and
attractive to the customers while using it for booking tickets for movies.
- User Requirements: There are many requirements of the users who are completely fulfilled
in the design of the application.
- Business and Organization Requirements: The designed application is user-friendly and
can be used for making or enhancing the business for further usage.
- Competitors: There are many competitors in the market but are designed application will
beat the other applications of the competitors.
d. Discussion on the similar interfaces.
The ticket booking system is been designed by using design principles. The application named as
“Cinema Hall”. There are many ticket booking applications presents in the running market and
the competitors are also present. The similar application which is been selected for comparison
with our design is named Hoyts Cinema (referred as Figure 1). With this application, customers
can buy their tickets and also save many times by booking drinks and food. Customers can watch
trailers before ticket booking for movies. Customers can access the application for ordering
drinks and food only. Can pay via credit card and the debit cards or the vouchers which are
differently listed for every customer. But as compared with our application, it is having many
other and the advanced features for the customers. After using the application, they will
definitely prefer our design or the functionality of the application. The main or the unique feature
in our application is the parking facility where users can book their space for parking their
vehicles via the application. It is so tough to become the better competitor in the market but by
the comparison result, it will be sure that it will make better competition in the market because
the functionality and designing of the application are so advanced and simple (Liang & Cao,
2017).
Conclusion
In the whole report, the reflection of the designed application is discussed briefly. The
application “Cinema Hall” is designed by using design principles. These design principles make
the application so consistent and the advanced for the customers which helps them to book the
ticket of movies and the parking space. The reflection of the design is compared with a similar
kind of application. And after the comparison, it properly justifies that our design of the
application is so advanced and unique for the further competitive market.
