INTRODUCTION
The present case study is based on the latest terrorist attacks which
took place on Easter Sunday. The present study will focus on the
Cinnamon Grand hotel and what was the impact of the attack on
the hotel and its working. The report will outline some of the
barriers and challenges which the hotel faced due to the attacks.
Further it will discuss some measures and strategies through which
the hotel can improve its barriers to communication. At last the
report will outline the awareness of cultural influence on the
communication and negotiation.
Communication challenges and barriers
The hotels faced many communication barriers and
challenges after the attacks are as follows-
Faulty planning- This is the major
communication challenge faced by the Cinnamon
hotel. After the attack the manager were not in proper
state of mind so they were not able to plan properly
that how they will bring the people back to normalcy
after the severe attacks.
Physical barriers- Because of the attacks there
was much loss to the environment like collision of
buildings, monuments, trees, landslides and many more
such type of losses. This posed a problem because it
may be possible that because of these destructions the
staff of the hotel may not be able to reach to the hotel.

There are many barriers which the company faces as
discussed above. So to overcome these barriers the
Cinnamon hotel can use the below discussed strategy-
Employees orientation- After the severe attacks all
the employees and the workers were in shock and mental
trauma as the hotel was severely damaged due to the
attacks. So the manager can do a fresh start by orienting
the employees again with the objectives, goals, process,
procedures followed by the hotel so that they clearly know
what they have to do.
Understanding emotional state- Because of the
attack the employees and the people were in mental stress
and trauma. So before communicating the manager of the
hotel must understand the state of mind of the employees
that whether they are able to understand the message or
