Introduction
Rolls Royce has been a leading provider of power systems and currently active in civil
aerospace, automobile engineering, defense, marine and energy. It has been continuously
investing their IT knowledge in different fields. The company has been focused o0n the
innovation in the IT field for creating new innovative products and services. This report has been
related to one of the CIO interview done with Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of IT department
of Rolls Royce, Paul Stein regarding their new technologies in the different field. The interview
is focused on IT in 2019 and future aspects of the technology to be used in the Rolls Royce for
their development in the company. The IT Chief Officer has mentioned about their innovative
strategies in future and has spent £ 1.4 billion every year on research and development and two
thirds for enhancing environment performance of their products. The company has been looking
for continuous innovation in products.

Industry 4.0: Industry 4.0 can be defined as a new trend of automation and exchange of
data and information in manufacturing technologies. It contains cyber physical systems, IoT and
Cloud Computing (Oliveira et al. 2019).

electronic data services (EDS). The IT department of the company has been outsourced by EDS
that have been responsible for the development of the company in the IT systems and taking over
the existence 0f the existing systems in the company. This has helped in concentrating efforts on
the IT resources provided by the Rolls Royce. EDS have been selected for outsourcing several IT
services in the market. The use of IT resources have been helping in making an automated
systems sin the Rolls Royce. In 1998 various changes were made for flattening structural
hierarchy. The company has focused on customer centric approach and made possible change in
their sales policies. The operational business units have been looking forward to open new
manufacturing units in the markets. As mentioned by Ashcraft et al. (2019), the executive
product need to be appropriate in the market. There has been increase in the number of systems
in the Rolls Royce which has been becoming difficult for employees to managing them.
Therefore, there has been need of automated systems in the company for managing these
systems.

have been technical issue in accuracy if the data. There is a requirement of new system that can
retrieve old data from legacy systems and be normalized. The duplication of information has
been neither issue in the company. Data used to be duplicate with the old data and information
which create issues in the company. The CAD systems used by the Rolls Royce has been same
and the processes have been altered as per the requirement. Rolls Royce has nine principal
business processes that can be together describe everything about the company. As commneted
by Bartsch, Lührs and Schmitz (2018), the CIO is trying to develop total assumptions in the
financial model, but he cannot describe the potential consequences of these financial difficulties
and structural error (Fountas et al., 2015). CIO of these organizations is framing several
