Employees who are working very long hours, experience so many issues that has a direct
impact over their mental, physical as well as social health. These kind of practices impacts
directly upon the performance level of individual’s. Main reason behind this is unhealthy eating
habits, inappropriate physical activity and so on. Long working hours can also impose stress that
can increase the risk of chronic disease as cancer, heath disease, coronary artery disease and so
on. Such practices also reduce social involvement of individual due to lack of time that they have
for their personal life as well as excessive stress and frustration (Abidin, 2016).
Thus, in this regard government introduced The Working time regulation act 1998, that
determine that a maximum working of an individual for a week of not more than 48 hours which
including overtime as well. On the other hand, it is also required for an organisation to provide
them a day off for every week. All these legislations are regulated by government of different
countries in order to restrict a time limit for firm and employees as well. The limited working
hours will motivate employees to do their work productively by avoiding excessive stress and so
on.

immediately before the due date. According to the paternity law in UK, employees must be able

company. He must be a father, spouse or civil partner. The employee who want to get paternity
leave must provide notification to the employees for their identification. There are several
employees who are provided paternity leave and it is remembered that policies of employees are
managed properly. Another type of parental leave includes employees who want to take a longer
period of leave there is birth of child and new adoption is elected for taking period of shared

On the other hand, it is also required to implement equal pay act which stand for fair labour
standards in order to provide equal payment and salary to their employees who are working on
same scale. Firm requires to avoid discrimination in the payment on the basis of dearness,
gender, region and so on but they can praise salary of employees on the basis of their skills,
seniority, merit as well as working performances. All these activities assist in building positive
working environment as well as can boost morale of employees to improve their capabilities in
order to attain target goals and objectives of firm (Mousmouti, 2019). Both these legislations are
