INTRODUCTION
Information system is an important part for the businesses to achieve the effectiveness of
implementation of tools and techniques in the project. Information system refers to the
application of automated system which included the machines, equipment, people and processing
methods for the projects (Chen and et al., 2010; Laudon and Laudon, 2015). In this regard, the
current report is based on the incorporation of voice recognition technology in Melbourne private
tours, Australia. For this purpose, a project plan has been prepared which includes the several
estimated structures such as cost, time and resources for the implementation and execution of
technology. Further, Gantt and Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) has been
applied for the effective calculations of data related to voice recognition technology.
PROJECT PLAN
Overview of the voice recognition technology and organization
Voice recognition is computer embedded technology which is based on the software
programs or associated with hardware devices and possess an ability to decode the human voice
(Bala and et al., 2010; Lee and et al., 2012). This technology is frequently used to provide
commands and operate the device. These functions can take place without using a keyboard,
pressing any button and mouse etc. In this context, in 1952 an Automatic Speech Recognition
(ASR) software program was implemented to convert the voice of customers into text (Computer
Hope, 2018). For instance, the users can directly speak on the google software that they want to
book a travel trip for the particular destination, then the voice recognition technology will
automatically detect the voice and convert into text format for the respective person. In this
manner, there would be minimum mistakes due to spoken format. Further, it is used in many
industries such as tours and travels, military, healthcare, telecommunications and personal
computing etc. (Brooks, 2010; Basu and et al., 2010). To assess the benefits of voice recognition
technologies, a plan has been prepared to incorporate the ‘voice recognition’ technologies for a
major tourist attraction of Melbourne private tours along a major Australian highway. According
to case study, currently, the organization is not associated with any wireless technology to
identify the voice of the customers; however, the company is focusing on the implementation of

voice recognition technology to enhance the collaboration with passengers and deal with vast
amount of traffic over the wireless technology infrastructure.
The assumptions of implementation of voice recognition for the tour operator of Australia
can be as follows to attract the large number of customers-
ï‚· Updated new core systems- The Melbourne private tour has a desire to engage with the
new updated technology in voice recognition to enhance the customer’s gathering at
Australia highway. The organization was not using the software-based techniques to
decode the voice before commencement of the new technique. In this regard, the new
software base techniques would be helpful to convert the voices into text at high traffic
area.
ï‚· Availability of skilled employees- The company has skilled employees to operate the
advanced technologies in the travelling and tours sector. As per the case, the company
has 1000 employees, out of them many of workers are professionals in the IT field and
they have a capability to operate the varied systems from the remote locations. In this
context, the implementation of new technology would be cost-effective for the
Melbourne private tours organization because it already has skilled and competent
employees who are ready to adopt the changes conveniently. Moreover, the company
does not have need to train the employees to provide instructions regarding new
approach.
ï‚· Sound wireless technology infrastructure- As mentioned in the case study that
Melbourne private tours company has a strong base of the technological infrastructure
which is helpful to incorporate the new voice recognition technology. In this regard, the
company would not have to spent excess money to create the framework for the
application of advanced voice recognition technique.
ï‚· Development of voice recognition technique for local as well as remote customers-
The Melbourne private tours and travel organization has an intention to develop the
technology to handle local along with remote potential clients. This scenario can take
place through integration of the voice technology with advanced one because it provides
the additional functions to collaborate with existing as well as prospective customers.

SUMMARY OF TECHNOLOGY
Melbourne tours is a private tour operator which is full of all luxury services which is
attracted by the altered and hidden area of Victoria (Melbourne private tours, 2018). The
organization is going to implement a new Information Communication Technologies (ICT) for
the incorporation as voice recognition technologies. The Melbourne tours can be benefited by
applying the ‘voice recognition’ as an ICT in varied forms such as it saves the time and efforts of
the employees. On the other hand, the travel and tourism organizations are in a better position to
grab the advantages of extensive growth of voice search (Malek, 2015; Bernsen and et al., 2012).
At this juncture, the respective organization will be able to deal with the challenges of typing
errors because in voice search the typed line will be automatically replaced by the software and
provide the results of nearby resources (Brian, 2018). In this regard, Melbourne tours will be able
to reduce the quality time for the identification of voice codes because the voice recognition
software trace the customer’s voice due to speaking of commands instead of typing. Thus, the
application of this ICT has a major contribution to improve the regularity of response to the
concerned clients and save the time of typing about the search.
The voice recognition approach has a vide scope in the future because the use of voice
search is increasing day by day and mostly in the mobile devices. The use of this technology
would be increased from 45% to 82% by 2020 (Forbes Technology Council, 2018). In this
context, mobile phones are commonly used by the people in every sector to save the time and
expenses for searching by typing. The current tour operators would access the voice activation
because it is helpful for the employees to maintain better relations with customers by offering the
quality services, effective management of customers experiences and improve the productivity at
all. Further, Melbourne travel company can implement the modern speech recognition system in
the form of digital assistant which can be installed in hand carried devices such as smart phones
and other technical equipment of communication. Moreover, it would be helpful for the
respective organization to improve the efficiency and simplifying the long processes.
The travel companies get affected through the use of voice search because the updated
voice recognition or machine learning is capturing the way that how the customers are finding
the answers (Malek, 2015). The communication through voice search is more effective; however,
it does not matter how fast the consumers can type. For example, in a conference of Google I/O

of 2016, it has been found that the google is receiving most of the queries from the voice search
rather than typed. In this regard, google is using the voice recognition technology from last one
year in workshops with British travel firms (Brian, 2018). At this juncture, it would be effective
for the Melbourne private tours because the company can frequently solve the issues of
customers, rises the travel searching options and operating and booking by mobile devices etc.
through voice technology.
COST AND RESOURCE STRUCTURE
An expected cost and resource analysis structure has been prepared in context of
incorporation of ‘voice recognition’ technologies in Melbourne private tours at Australia. The
following cost structure and resources requirement are presented for the effective
implementation of ICT as voice recognition technology.

The above-mentioned cost structure is showing the details about the expected cost which
would be incurred on the implementation of voice recognition technology in Melbourne private
tours organization. According to the table 1, the company would spend 120 dollars on framing
the objectives for the implementation of plan. In the first step, company would be able to know
about the reasons of incorporation of new technology in travel industry. After that, research
would be carried out, competitors would be identified in 150 dollars. Then, the need for
implementation of technology would be identified with around 70 dollars. Further, various
alternatives will be recognized and different ICT techniques would be developed for the
Melbourne that would incur 280 dollars. Then, potential customers would be identified and for
the satisfaction of their demands, a best alternative of technology would be selected for the voice
recognition of Melbourne required 310 dollars. After that effective relationships would take
place with the help of the communication tools demanded 340 dollars. Furthermore, voice
recognition technology would be implemented and review would be done on the basis of
availability of information with 490 dollars. Then after, modifications and final execution of plan
would take place in 470 dollars. Therefore, it reveals that total cost would be predicted as 2240
dollars for the activation of all task which are required for the implementation of voice
recognition technology in Melbourne private tours.
Resource structure
Resource structure shows the collective form of the variety of resources which are
required for the implementation of the new voice recognition technique in Melbourne tours
(refer figure 1).

Justification of the cost and resources schedule
Cost schedule is displaying the overall description about the estimated cost for the project
plan. It reflects that total 2240 dollars would require for the implementation of technology
because a new approach initially demanded huge amount of cost for the effectiveness. On the
other hand, different types of resources are also required for the completion of every activity on
time within minimum expenditure of cost. At this juncture, in absence of any resource, the
implementation would not be effectively incorporated in Melbourne tours.

DEVELOPING A TIME SHEET WITH SLACK FOR VOICE RECOGNITION
PERT- Network diagram
Figure 2: PERT for incorporation of voice recognition plan
PERT is representing the critical path for the implementation of voice recognition
technology in the Melbourne tours. If the company would consider the overall activities then the
length of the project would be maximizing but with the help of the critical path which is in pink
color would reduce the time period for the implementation of technology. Hence, the company
would follow only the critical path for implementation by involving the activities like 11,12,13
and 14 along with reduction in overall cost.
Gantt chart
Gantt chart is a representation of activities with respect to schedule of the project and it
shows a relationship between both of them such as all the activities as well as recent time status
of the plan. In this regard, a pictorial representation has been done to reflect the activities and
how much time would be taken by each task for the implementation of voice recognition
technology is collectively drawn (refer figure 3).
