Every individual has certain degree of distinctiveness in their characteristics. However
few people tend to develop their unique abilities and use their exceptional persona to create as
well as experience the life and the society through their own means. In order to become a global
citizen, an individual must develop adequate awareness and knowledge of the world and further
develop a sense of role and responsibility in it (MacAskill, 2015). Skills such as creativity,
dedication and perception abet one to transform oneself into a unique individual and further
offer a contributory role in the emerging world community and further facilitate the values,
principles and practices of the community.
Creativity- As every individual possess certain distinctiveness, there can be witnessed various
creative and imaginative skills which makes oneself unique in comparison to the others.
Creativeness effectively implemented in the process of improvisation or invention can elevated
the degree of uniqueness within an individual (Sacchetti & Tortia, 2013). Demonstrating
creativity in problem solving procedures and proactively establishing proper communication to
highlight the ideas and knowledge attributes to the level of individuality within a person
(Seligman & Csikszentmihalyi, 2014). Such level of competencies are being increasingly being
identified as fundamental in order to develop oneself into a true and proficient global citizen and
further willing to play an active role to transform the world an improved equitable as well as
sustainable place.
Dedication- Dedication is regarded as a wide-encompassing area of subject which comprises of
several connotations and meanings. Any creation or formation of an individual is regarded as
devotion of oneself towards any specific work, action or other individuals. Proper dedication and
allegiance facilitates one to create well-established strategies to be focused on being successful
and accomplish the set goals and objectives (MacAskill, 2015). Furthermore, the act of

associating oneself intellectually and emotionally with the consigned responsibility is perceived
as a true sense of dedication (Sacchetti & Tortia, 2013). As dedication is associated with the
greater sense of passion possessed for a specific thing, a proficient global citizen must dedicate
oneself to the wider world and gain insights of the functioning of the world and further take the
accountability for one’s own actions (Seligman & Csikszentmihalyi, 2014).
Perception- Perception is regarded as a form of opinions and insights that one gathers which
have the propensity to vary from the level of understanding of others. However, perceptions
accounts for the way individuals develop the understanding thus play a significant role in
developing the uniqueness and inimitability of an individual (Broadbent, 2013). As perception is
regarded as the awareness of certain things through the capacity of senses, it aims to facilitate
individual to view, comprehend or further develop understandings of the actions of the world.
Perception being a way to perceive or acknowledge things defines one characteristics and
attitudes further making it an essential factor to develop the level of uniqueness and individuality
of a being (Seligman & Csikszentmihalyi, 2014). Perception further aids the act of global
citizenship to affirm ideologies related to equality of all human beings and further perceive the
significance of treating all individuals in fair and unprejudiced manner.
Thus these skills would act as a contributory role for global citizenship and enable
individuals to develop resolutions to issues and think critically towards making the world an
unbiased and sustainable place.
