INTRODUCTION
Database management system is a type of software that help for creating and managing
the data in appropriate manner. It provide the users and programmers with systematic way to
develop, retrieve, manage and update etc. database management system makes it possible for end
users to handle the task in proper manner. This report will discuss about the city college that
should develop database system to manage all the details of library management system. This
assignment will describe the concept of universal design to web pages and also understand for
operates an effective information system to meet the significant enterprise needs. This report will
discuss about the database system to create different tables and establish relationship between
them. In this report website screenshots of library management system has been attached, all the
SQL commands that are used to to create tables and insert vales in the tables have also been
attached, with data dictionary of the database ( Shih, Hwang and Chu, 2018 ). In this report
navigation forms are also attached which helps the users to easily access any web page in detail.

Information system is basically set of components that work together to manage and control the
data processing in appropriate manner. Information system strategy is an essential features in the
corporate or information which help the city college to allocate, store and process data where
they can develop or receive. A strategic information system is developed to respond the
corporate world and many other enterprise initiatives. They also used for giving the higher
advantage in education sector (Avison and Fitzgerald, 2018). Information system strategy is
necessary feature in the corporate world which enables and use the different tools in their
information repositories function. It allows them to recognise the resourceful opportunities for
the expansion and ways to enhance the operations. Here, a library management system has been
made will help the staff and members of the city college to access the library management
system in order to either insert or extract any information related to the library I.e. Whether it is
for insertion of book or author details or it is for extraction of publishers or members details etc.
Role of information system strategy
There are some specific role of information system where it establish a connection
between the demand of firms and latest information technology (Avison and Fitzgerald, 2018). It

also helping the business to get hold the market by utilising the information to meet its
challenging requirement. Information system plays a vital role in any organization in various
ways such as:
 It is the most critical aspect of enterprise for the organization expansion and growth while
integration of data system and its functions can be handled by easily.
 Information systems most of the time helps the organization in being strategic. It helps
the organization in making most of their tasks easier to be done (Williment 2019).
 It also helps the organization to remain aware of the resources available within their
organization
 it also gives the organization a clear ideal of who can access their system, who are the
users of the system, how much access all the users have on the system.
 It also helps in identifying the relationship between organization, system and the users of
the system (Shih,Hwangand 2018).
 It supports the organization at different levels of the business and also supports them at
different level of the society.
 It also provide sustainability to the organization and competitive advantage.
 At management level it helps the organization in monitoring, controlling administrative
activities of middle manager.
 At strategic level it helps in addressing strategic issues and long term trends of the
organization.
 At knowledge level it helps in designing attractive Boucher of the organization ( Shih,
Hwang and Chu, 2018 ).

Information system integrated with enterprise strategies:
The integration strategies are the applicable to cross management and members, reduce
the ineffective communication and cut the supplier costs. It is required for business process to
analyse the organization operations where manager can think in different ways to integrate with
processes to save both time and money (ChanLin and Hung, 2016). It helps to the streamline in
the operations and also reduce the overhead as well as personnel costs. Information system is
integrated with the business strategies because they can identify the need and requirement of
company to increase their productivity or profitability in marketplace.
Analyse the case study and apply the concept of universal design to web pages.
As per the case study, it has developed a dynamic website of library management system
for managing and controlling all the operations in proper manner. Modern technology is
significantly boost the company performance and productivity (Eastman, 2018). Online library
management system useful for the city college to provide the best facilities and services. As per
scenario, it is designed an effective or dynamic website of library management to handle and
manage all the enterprise details or store in the system. It can be used the weebly free platform
for the purpose to create a website of city college library management system. It is designed in
such a way that users can extract or insert information related to books, authors, publishers or
members ( Shih, Hwang and Chu, 2018 ).

Develop a database system of library management by using Microsoft access
Understand the skill and mind set needed to the design and operate an effective information
system to meet the significant business needs.
It is very important for designing any type of system which needed to maintain the data
and information. It is also implements the new logical concepts for the development so that it has
required to understand the specific skill and mind set that help for operate an effective
information system (Fisk and et.al., 2018). There are some important skills and mind required for
designing the information system.
Skills: Innovation Skill - It plays important role in the information system to think innovative
ways and associated with the creation of new services. However, it comes in the different
forms where they can be used either particular process. Business information system has
required to develop an effective plans and implement in the system. An innovation
designer is practitioner with diverse the toolkit of capabilities that enable them to support
team and organization (Groomer and Murthy, 2018). They have skills to diverse the field
in terms of centred design, learning. Manager has shared the skill for the purpose of
knowledge to apply method with the team. Technical Skill – The Technical skill set required for development of enterprise to
implement the technical and logical concepts to handle every task in effective manner.
Having the skill, the technique help to know about the imperative for development in
effective information system within organization.
 Analytical skill- In order for the enterprise to have an effective technological foundation
in terms of information system. In this way, employee must posses the ability to easily
analyse and break down the complication situations (Mitchell, 2016). Analytical skills are
qualities associated with the problem solving that might include the business approach to
determine the need and requirement. It is an important skill which require for managing
an effective information system to meet all need of business process.

 Team building Skill- This type of skill is isolating at first, being engage with the other
online platform and communicate with the other people. In online library management
system, manager can use the online platform to operates all the enterprise operations and
functions. They were coordinated with other members to support the overall business
activities.
Mind Set: Use network to build enterprise- It is the important mind set that help for business
development. Manager has tried to communicate with another company regarding to
develop enterprise in different areas by using information system (Iqbal and Warraich,
2016). It is mainly possible to share the details and understand the need or requirement of
client. In this way, they also investing some money for creating an effective website to
share details about the books, author and publisher ( Shih, Hwang and Chu, 2018 ). For
Example- city college has planning to develop a website and store all necessary
information regarding the books when every members are checking the availability of
book's and its particular author. In this way, they are connected with other people to take
feedback related their services or process. This type of mind set always give more
opportunity to establish the business all over the world. Advancement- Advancement means commitment and focus which are necessary part of
business process. Focus can measure by the ability to shut out the distractions which
emphasis on what need to be done in the enterprise progress. On the other hand,
commitment is a measure of the focus that puts proper action behind the goals and
objectives (Hogan, 2018). It is important mind set which help to work perform
deliberately in growth and development. For Example- Manager has ability to do
advancement in the business and also putting some efforts for increasing the business all
over the world. This mind set help to manager for doing some innovation in terms of
business development.
 Mindfulness and fearlessness- A business has minds come from believing in yourself, it
is necessary for organization which help to provide the right directions. It is similar to the
commitment when the manager belief on their own goals and objectives. It is the greatest
things to do their work fearless ( Shih, Hwang and Chu, 2018 ). The only time to delay

the enterprise is when it can use the strategy to obtain the desired goals and
achievements.

Ability to design and implement relational database by converting Entity relationship diagram
into the relational tables.
Above is the Entity Relationship diagram of Library management system of the city
college.
Entity relationship diagram is mainly described the multiple entities and its unique attributes. It
can be represented in the graphical ways to create a relationship between one table to another.
This diagram generally contain the set of entities which stored in the database system. Database
is main integral part of software system which fully utilise the ER Diagram to maintain the high
quality of design (Houghton, 2018). It applicable for creation, maintenance and management. ER
Model is providing the communication between the different entities.
According to ER diagram, it can be used the primary key and foreign key which help to establish
a relationship between tables.

Each and every table contain a primary or represented as a foreign key into another table. In this
way, it has develop the relationship.
Entity- An entity is a type of real world object that are represented in the database
system. It can be class, person, object etc (Seadle, 2016). Data and information are stored such as
entities. As per the ER model, it contains different type of entities such as author, book, publisher
and members etc.
Attributes- An attributes are the characteristic or properties which refers to the database
component like table. It may also refer to the database fields. This type of property is describing
the instances in rows of DBMS (Polonsky and Waller, 2018). Each and every entities are
contains unique attributes such as Id, name, address and phone etc.
Data Dictionary:
A data dictionary is a file or set of different files that contain metadata. It store the records about
the other objects in the database system such as data relationship and entities ( Shih, Hwang and
Chu, 2018 ). In this Data dictionary relationship between all the entities and attributes of the
library management system will be described.

Database tables: There are four main database tables in this library management system which
are:
1. Book table: it consist of book_id, title, author, price, available, member_id as the main
columns where book_id is the primary key.

where author_id is the primary key and book_id is the foreign key.

Guidelines of a system are made so that users can easily access that system and if the face
any problem then with the help of these guidelines they can easily resolve that issue. Users guide
is one of the most important for users of any information system in simple words it gives them an
idea or the way information system is used ( Shih, Hwang and Chu, 2018 ). There are following
guidelines that the staff members and students of the city college need to understand in order to
use the library management system so that no further issues can be created:
 Only the librarian can enter new book details in the book table and author table of the
database.
 Librarian should note that book_id in book table and author table should match.
 Before creating an account members of the library need to register themselves with their
member type in the database.
 While filling the details no column should be left blank and garbage value should not be
filled into the database system.
 All the permissions to access the library management system should only be provided to
the librarian of the city college as he will be the only person who will enter details related
to the book and author into the database.
TASK 2E
Create a simple user friendly Navigation form to provide easy access to all forms.
This form is indicated the navigation form where all forms access by choosing the
options such as click on “Book” to open form of “Book details”. In this way, it easy for user to
access the details and also check the availability of book in the library. With the help of these
navigation forms user can easily access all the form in a simple and easy manner.

CONCLUSION
As per discussion, it concluded that Database management system is sequential process
that help for creating and managing the data in appropriate manner. It provide the users and
programmers with systematic way to develop, retrieve, manage and update etc. It summarised
that database management system makes it possible for end users to handle the task in proper
manner. This report discuss about the city college that should develop database system to
manage all the details of library management system. This assignment describe the concept of
universal design to web pages and also understand for operates and effective information system
to meet the significant enterprise needs. In this assignment all the screenshots of the library
management system are attached with all the database tables. In this assignment data dictionary
of the library management system has also been attached which helped in understanding the
relationship between entities and attributes of the system.
