PERSONAL STATEMENT

PERSONAL STATEMENT
In the present world of increasing development in the infrastructural arena of the world, I
would like to pursue my masters degree in Civil Engineering. In my opinion it is a discipline
which shall enable me to develop dream cities and improve the living conditions of the citizens
of my country as well as other countries. The activities of designing, construction and
maintenance of infrastructure at a macro level, has always fascinated me. In pursuance to the
same, during the time of my schooling I have undertaken various projects and done various field
studies on the basic aspects of Civil Engineering. I have always been fascinated with projects
such as Burj Al Khalifa and other large level construction projects, which has enhanced my
interest in this field. I believe the kind of knowledge and exposure, currently I have in this area
of study shall prove to be highly beneficial for my bachelors and shall thus, provide me with a
competitive edge over the others. Apart from the experience I have gained while assisting the
seniors in the construction projects, I have also worked at a pizza restaurant in the position of
Retail Assistant. In addition, I have also worked as door supervisor in a renowned security
company, as a part time employee during the duration of my graduation.
In my free time I prefer to play cricket as this has been my favourite sport since
childhood and is one of the most preferred options to be pursued during free time. In addition, I
have a keen interest to watch documentaries which are based on construction projects,
undertaken at a massive level in various countries. It would not be wrong to say that this has
been one of the biggest source of inspiration for me and the source of development of interest
which I have in this area of study. In my opinion after the theoretical knowledge I have been
appraised with during my studies, and the immense practical knowledge during the construction
projects can be shaped in the most appropriate manner only through a professional degree in the
field of Civil Engineering. It is important to highlight that pursuance to this study shall enable
me to develop a highly focused understanding in the field of Civil Engineering and gain new
heights in my professional life. I see myself working as a Civil Engineer after a time period of 10
years, and would like to invest every possible effort to make this dream come true. I would also
like to make a contribution in the development of my surroundings, and in pursuance to the same
appraise myself with the best possible skills and capabilities. Hence, after pursuing all these jobs
and gaining diversified knowledge from different sources, I now wish to return to studies and

gain knowledge in the specific area of Civil Engineering and develop an expertise over the
subject.
