Civil engineering is very essential in today's world where airports, bridge, railways, roads
and power stations represent society, without them world would not be a better or developed
place. These all provide several benefits to enhance the quality of life not for present but for the
future also that contribute toward improving the world around me and beauty of this work
attracted me toward pursing this course.
By pursuing the degree of civil engineering I become able to implement my skills that I
have learnt from Maths and Physics which are considered as most relevant subject throughout
the world. I holds up command in physics and maths since childhood which is biggest strength of
mine and also support me while studying civil engineering. This is because both plays a crucial
role in civil engineering as physics includes topics such as Mechanics, Elasticity etc. which assist
a civil engineer to study regarding building as well as its construction at molecular level so that
the strength of provided structure and material can be predicted much effectively. Despite of this
mathematics is also helpful for a civil engineer as several concepts like trigonometry help in
surveying a structure which deals with land elevations and measuring structure from several
angles.
Therefore, it seems to be very exciting to study regarding construction and building in
civil engineering as built environment today is more adoptable and flexible to future which
support in dealing with changes in climate which enables people to live a better life. By pursuing
the civil engineering I will be able to enhance my knowledge in several areas such as resolving
complex engineering problem, designing principles and applications, applied mathematics,
health safety & welfare, site surveying procedure, project management, advance civil
engineering and application of construction. By studying this I would be able to improve my
skills, knowledge and capability that help in demonstrating the effective and more creative
problem solving techniques so that projects can be performed in effective manner. I enjoy
performing work that involves some rigid and challenging situation that help in bringing best out
of me. In addition to this I am also have the ability to manage and organise tasks effectively for
ensuring completion of work on strict deadlines.
Hence, studying Civil engineering is a life changing opportunity for me that brings up
new challenges that thoroughly develop my skills and capabilities with the help of which I
become able to achieve a better job and career.
