This project report details a civil engineering internship experience on the Governmental Health Building project in Beirut, Lebanon. The project, managed by Dar Al Handasa Nazih Taleb, involved the construction of a 7000 square meter facility with two basements, seven floors, a ground floor, and a roof, costing USD 7 million. The author, as a Consultant Civil Engineer intern, was responsible for inspecting civil and structural works, ensuring design compliance, and managing project schedules. The report covers responsibilities including site inspections, material quantity reviews, field tests supervision, and progress monitoring. The author also highlights challenges such as communication gaps, project delays due to material approvals, and payment issues. Solutions implemented included a communication plan, weekly progress meetings, and the use of Excel sheets for tracking activities. The project's objectives were to design and fabricate the health building, promote community health, and provide free health services. The report concludes with a project overview, the author's contributions, and insights gained during the internship, showcasing the application of civil engineering knowledge and skills in a real-world construction environment.
